You mean the order in which they're set?

Well...It really depends. Some stories are grouped together, and make a universe, such as Armada, Energon, and Cybertron making the Unicron trilogy. Others, such as RID are set in a universe of it's own. These alternate universes can be tricky, depending if you follow books, comics, cartoons, etc.

    So...

    G1
    G2
    Beast Wars
    Beast Machines
    RID
    Universe
    Armada
    Energon
    Alternators
    Cybertron
    Movie
    Animated

    I think that's right...

They aren't all related, so how can you specify this?

    G1
    G2 ( G1 epsisodes re aired)
    Beast wars
    Beast machines
    Robots in Disguise (RID)
    Armada
    Energon
    Cybertron
    Animated

As for the animated movie are you talking about the '86 animated movie, or the TF animated series premiere that aired on CN? if it's the former then it was released between seasons 2 and 3 of the G1 series. If it's the later, it's the latest series.

As for where to buy Beastwars on DVD you're best bet is either online or if you're lucky some stores like FYE might still have them (I saw 2 of the seasons this past weekend at an FYE in Maine).

You mean Headmasters, Masterforce and Victory?

I don't, mainly cuz I am American and can't understand Japanese, and since the American dubs were horrible.

And the Movie came after season 2.

G1 is comprised of the US G1 cartoon; it runs
Season One - Season Two - Movie - Season 3.
Some of the Japanese G1 cartoons can be seen as following it, I believe. I don't know much about their continuity, I'm afraid.
G2 was a series of G1 episodes with new links (the infamous 3D cube).
Beast Wars loosely follows US G1 continuity, although it seems to use a mix of cartoon and comic. Just to confuse it a little more:
Beast Wars The Second (Japan) follows after season ONE of Beast Wars; for some reason they didn't get seasons 2 and 3. Beast Wars Neo follows Beast Wars The Second (known as BWII).
Beast Machines follows directly from Beast Wars.

    Then it gets sticky.

Robots In Disguise (known as Car Robots in Japan) is set in its own continuity.

Armada, Energon and Cybertron are set in the same universe and follow each other.

However in Japan only Micron Legend (Armada) and Energon (Superlink) were originally linked. Galaxy Force (Cybertron) was originally set in a new continuity, but they retconned it to set it in with the previous 2 series.

The 2007 movie is its own continuity, loosely based on G1.

Animated is a complete reboot, with a lot of nods to the G1 cartoons.

I love the Japanese series ...the only thing wrong with it , was that it was dubbed poorly....

    Original G1 Season 1
    Original G1 Season 2
    Scramble City
    Original Animated Movie
    Original G1 Season 3
    Headmaster
    Masterforce
    Victory
    Zone
    Beast Wars
    Beast Wars II
    Beast Machines
    Beast Wars Neo
    Car Robots
    Armada
    Energon
    Cybertron

Although I look and everyone should just look at RID and the Unicron Trilogy as alternate realities.

I think that covers pretty much every thing. as you can see its pretty screwed up on the japanese side of things trying to put every series together.the english timelines are spread out with into seperate universes which makes for a less confusing list.

i think he means the order of the cartoons which are as follows

    Generation 1:
    season 1
    season 2 part 1
    saeson 2 part 2
    the 1986 movie
    season 3 part 1
    season 3 part 2 and season 4
    headmasters
    masterforce
    victory
    zone
    beast wars season 1
    beast wars season 2
    beast wars season 3
    beast machines
transformers: armada season one part 1
transformers: armada season one part 2
    Transformers: energon
    transformers: cybertron
    transformers the movie (2007)
    transformers animated

there they are in chronological order all transformers cartoons and movies
which i own them all ( except animated which is saved on my hard drive).
it is hard to get the japanesse cartoons i got mine last year at botcon. the energon were made by a guy on ebay who used to make great dvd's but has sitopped doing it due to ebays poicies. he used to sell them 8 episodes to a disc at 9.00 dollars. cybertron you'll find the european version on ebay which is region free and excellent quality.

    hope that helps

You know Takara considers both Car Robot(RID) and the Live action movie to be in G1 continuity

but I think we should forget about that.

Teletraan-1 has a flow chart of the multi verse.

    Although it's not update.
The only real thing to add:

    Animated is not G1

I count it, especially Headmasters as it is direct continuation after season 3. If you don't understand Japanese there is always the subtitles. I think some of the Headmasters stuff and maybe Masterforce and Victory are on Youtube so you can decide for yourself if it's your cup of tea.

The japanese got Season 2 and 3 as Beast Wars Metals. Once they finished airing season 1, because there were not enough US episodes to continue they made Beast Wars II and Beast Wars Neo to take its place until the US finished their run.

I'll arrange the series by launch date first, then arrange them as according to their appropiate timelines.

    Launchdates:
    Generation 1 (G1)
TFTM 87' (however this is tied with G1)
    Headmasters
    Generation 2 (G2)
    Masterforce
    Victory
    Zone
    Beast Wars
    Beast Wars II
    Beast Wars Neo
    Beast Machines
    Robots in Disguise (RID)
    Armada
    Energon
    Cybertron
    TFTM 07'
    Animated

    Timelines:
    Beast Wars (prehistoric)
    Beast Wars II (assumed prehistoric)
    Beast Machines (assumed prehistoric)
    Generation 1 (occurs in 1984)
    TFTM 87' (occurs in 2005)
    Headmasters (occurs slightly after G1)
    Generation 2
    TFTM 07'(occurs in 2007)
    Armada (occurs in 2010)
Masterforce (occurs in the near future after these timelines)
Victory (assumed to occur after Masterforce)
    Beast Wars Neo (unknown)
    Energon (occurs in 2020)
    Cybertron (occurs in 2030)
    Zone (unknown)
    Beast Wars Neo
    Robots in Disguise (unknown)
Animated (occurs in a very distant future as compared to the others)

I'm not 100% certain if these timelines are accurate. I'm making assumptions of what I'm aware of so far.

Quick timeline correction, AM; Beast Machines isn't prehistoric. It takes place back in the future, after the Maximals (and Megatron) returned to Cybertron. This should actually place it as the last series in the list, since the era the BW Maximals & Predacons came from originally was some time after the end of the Great War (G1).

I think he's just talking about the cartoons. This is close. Allow me to refine it.

    Generation 1: Seasons 1-2
    Scramble City OVA*
    the 1986 movie
    Season 3-4
    headmasters*
    masterforce*
    victory*
    zone OVA*
    beast wars season 1
    Beast Wars II*
    beast wars season 2
    Robotmasters OVA 1 & 2*
    beast wars season 3
    Beast Wars Neo*
    Beast machines
    RiD**/Car Robots*

    The Unicron Trilogy:
    Armada/Energon/Cybertron***

    Animated***

    Aligned Continuity:***
Prime S1-3 + Beast Hunters OVA
    Rescue Bots S1-5
    Robots In Disguise S1-3
    Rescue Bot Academy

    Prime Wars:****
    Combiner Wars
    Titans Return
    Power of the Primes

    Cyberverse (TBD)

*Japanese divergent, ignores parts of U.S. continuity
**While Car Robots has a tenuous link to G1, RiD all but eliminates it and is considered its own continuity
    ***Not G1-related at all
