By default, the maximum number of posts per page is set to 10, but users can choose different numbers of posts per page in their User CP. However, the link one can use to direct people to a specific post doesn't work out so well when people have set a different number of posts per page. For example, if I have left my max posts per page to 10, and somebody else is set to 20 (or more), whenever they link to a specific post, they'll be directing me (and anybody else with 10 posts per page) to the wrong page. I believe this is because the linking system, unlike on most other forum software, doesn't direct you to *exactly* the post the are referring to and only the post they are referring to. This forum's software merely directs you to the page the post is on, which is problematic when people can have wildly different posts per page set on their account. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks
I know of a workaround. When someone posts a link, such as: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/tfw20...-post-number-refferal-system.html#post5012184 You can edit the URL to instead take you directly to the post, like this: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/tfw20...-post-number-refferal-system-post5012184.html Basically, get the base URL of the thread, then add a - followed by post and the number, and a .html Not an ideal solution, but I find it helps sometimes.
