Hadn't seen any MEGS tank game footage yet either.

 

The voice just doesn't match the character, Welker's "Movie" Megatron...

 

You'd think he would change it up a bit.

 

That was a cool video, but man does Welker just not sound... right for Megs anymore. Wheras Cullen sounds EXACTLY like Prime.

 

Yeah maybe that's what Bay was talking about when he said it didn't match the new Megs.

 

Maybe he can't. He's over 60 years old: he probably can't do the gravelly voices like he used to.

Even Peter's Prime is way different than it used to be. One just needs to re-watch the cartoon to hear how much more youthful Prime used to sound. And cowboy-like.

Happens to the best of us, as Mark Hamill can attest. I think he's still doing a fine job, though.

After watching that, I cannot watch Frank without hearing (and seeing, kind of) Ray Stanz from the Real Ghostbusters.

 

Can't blame them for getting older, and I'd just be happy that they are still involved in the franchise. Though hopefully this puts a little dent in the people that criticized Bay for not giving Welker the part of Megs.

 

Welker has the job of Soundwave! Why have him do Megs again (in the video game), when they can get someone else with a better voice to do it...?

 

Wait... Will Welker also be doing the voice of Megs in the movie? What about Agent Smith/Elrond? Are they not going to carry him over for the sequel?

 

No, Smith is still doing Megs in the movie. Welker takes that role in the game.

 

No, they're just continuing Weaving for the film and Welker for the game.

Megatron looks like he'll be a fun character to play as. He can fly in robot mode, and he appears to be quite a nimble tank.

 

looks like you can use megatrons boosters in tank mode to have a sort of ram attack thats all sorts of cool.

as for the voice actors I'm totally cool with how they are doing this

 

Megatron's tank mode looks sweet in-game.
It's always cool to see these guys together. They are both awesome.

awesome! megatron cn hover! he sounds so bad ass! i never have seen what frank welker looks like. that was an awesome interview.

 

By saying "Switching it up", it meant that if he couldn't do the voice spot on, he should have tried something new. As much as I love G1 Megatron, I never picture Frank coming out of that monster.

Without processing, Peter sounds almost just like g1 Prime. It ain't that different. It's just not as southern.

 

Honestly, I don't care that the voice doesn't "fit the monster." It still has more personality than that one dimensional job provided by agent Smith. Hopefully, with extended voice time, he'll pull something out of the performance that'll make me feel different.

Still sounds like G1 Megs to me... IDK what people are hearing, but it sounds the same. Especially once it's processed and mixed. But to each his own, I look forward to a better job from Hugo, as well as hearing the real Megatron in the game. Funny part is that all this judgement comes from one line that's about 7 seconds long... WTF!
