This film looks utterly gorgeous, I am loving the aesthetic they chose for it, certainly a breath of fresh air. Although I really hope it isn't just "style over substance", and that there actually is a pretty interesting story, from the trailer it looks to be pretty cliche. I am worried it won't do well, as it's made by the same studio who made "Free Birds" and that was pretty awful, but with del Toro producing and Gutierrez (loved El Tigre) directing, I really hope it'll be spectacular .......I just can't get over how pretty it looks, seriously.
Oh my god, is that something...Something new and interesting? I just love the way it looks! But hopefully there's a bit of depth in all of it.
Hmm... looks very like cutscenes from a computer game to me. Some bits even looked like they were shots from a platform game. The story sounded pretty shallow too. I honestly don't see much new or compelling here.
Saw this just last Friday (10/24)...what a fantastic film. Although the frame rate was choppy at times, the visuals were stunning and unlike anything I'd ever seen before. Best part: during the film, I was thinking about how we need action figures of these characters. Turns out-Funko is making figures of the characters from the movie! So, yes, fantastic movie.
This movie was beautiful to watch. I think Xiabala was my favorite character because he's the lovechild of Hades and Discord and that's he's voiced by Ron Perlman. My only real issue was how the story was framed with the tour guide telling the story to those school kids....that took me out of the movie a bit....though the ending was worth it all.
