Hi guys, I was looking around the boards and couldn't find a dedicated thread for ALL the Black Convoy/ Nemesis Primes that were released in the various Transformers lines.

As such, Im thinking of starting a new thread dedicated to all things Nemesis Prime/ Black Optimus Prime repaints!

Kindly post any pics of your collection of the many iterations of Takara/ Hasbro black repainted Optimuses and Black Convoys! 3rd party Black Convoys are welcomed too!

I'll get the ball rolling with some shots of Legends EX deluxe Nemesis Prime from the 2015 Tokyo Toy Show.

Had to go with Car Robots Black Convoy. Just a stunning mold.

Nucleon Quest SuperConvoy is awesome too, but the G2 Laser Prime is just that good and a lot of people missed it in 1995 so it was great that more people got to experience it. Finally re-released 5 years later and the mold looked and felt like it had just been made.

I know Beast Wars started the repaint thing, but Scourge / Black Convoy really introduced the concept into Western fiction in a way that hasn't really been stopped since. A real game changer.

 

I think there are now roughly...something like 50 or more official iterations of Black Convoys/ Nemesis Primes from both Takara and Hasbro?!

Robotmasters Reverse Convoy is the G2 Hero Megatron with a new head/cannon to be both Reverse Convoy and Megatron.

There are many. For a while I was completionist on them, but around the time of the first live action movie I got tired of it, I lost interest when they were making Black Convoys that were based on figures I didn't like, which made me wonder if I was buying a figure that I had increasingly less of a connection to or just black plastic to go on a shelf. After that I was only getting figures I actually wanted.

I may have one or two more that just didn't end up on display. LOL Poor Animated Black Convoy is practically hidden by Legends/TR Black Convoy there.

Unfortunately I never got around to getting POTP Nemesis Prime. I so didn't care for the mold and was pinched at the time, by the time I was rethinking it it was too late and was then going for absurd prices.

I have some special attachments to a few of them, Alternity Black Convoy was the first figure I did a translation for. Black Big Convoy was one of the first transformers I bought internationally and through the relatively new site at the time called eBay. Nucleon Quest Superconvoy was the first retro figures; that is a G1 mold that I purchased as new. Black Beast Convoy was one of the first transformers I reviewed online (I think Mass Production Noisemaze was the first figure I reviewed here for the feedback forum).

FWIW, in the poll, I voted for Black Big Convoy. I love the Big Convoy mold and getting this guy was a real delight. Though as a fun aside, my username was a thought on what Car Robots Black Convoy could be called in the then upcoming series, Robots in Disguise that ended up going to Scourge.

 

Imho, Aoyi Mech Dark Commander, a repro Studio Series 38 Bumblebee movie Optimus Prime done in Nemesis Prime colors, is a pretty decent temporary stand in till an official version is released.

 

There's alot of cool Nemesis Prime incarnations out there, but I have to cast my vote for Nucleon Quest. Powermaster Optimus/Super Ginrai is pretty much my all time favorite Transformer, along with 84' Optimus. The blacks and dark purples really look good on the mold as well.

 

Where would black knight optimus go? His bio states he is the darkness I primes spark that must be confronted everytime he makes a decision or something like that

I realized that I must've taken down Darkside WFC (game) Optimus Prime at some point and never put him back on the shelf. Oops. Like I said, I'm sure I had one or two Black Convoys not on the shelf.

 

Even though he has an autobot logo?

 

Faction symbols aren't the be all and end all. Black Lio Convoy has a maximal symbol, but he's one of the worst, possibly the most outright evil character on the shelf. LG Black Convoy despite having the Combatron symbol is a good character (mostly). Eldedroids are technically neutral since they have no will of their own and are all remote operated (by a Decepticon double agent no less), yet wear the Autobot symbol.
