That's a fair critique. At least the movies had ideas.
Yeah a lot of GREAT ideas, they just didn’t give them each enough time to breathe. I think the 5 bay movies have enough cool ideas to fill ten movies.
The outlines should have been written for at least a 6 movie span to begin with, so characters and continuity flowed between them.
I really dig the watch bot. I like that concept of Infernocus too, although I'm really glad they left off the tail.
I don't think they needed to plan 6 movies, but I think they should have at least planned this trilogy. Actually, I was under the impression they did, before AOE. I was kind of surprised when they brought in the writer's room to create TF5. Maybe I'm mistaken, and they didn't plan anything past AOE.
I have seen some evidence over the years that at least some lore was created to be used beyond AoE well before the Writers' Room was a thing.
For instance, during TF 4's production, before it had a title, a picture was released showing several props of giant melee weapons, some or all which were almost certainly the ones seen on the Knightship. Anyway, with this picture it was revealed that one of the weapons belonged to none other than Megatron.
Now, this story and picture were taken down by Paramount's request, and I am not certain where, if at all, one can find it these days, but the fact someone on the set said one of the weapons belonged to Megatron, combined with Megatron's knight-like appearance in The Last Knight, suggest to me Megatron had some sort of past lore related to Knights or the Knightship, but for whatever reason, it was ignored or just wasn't explained in The Last Knight.
Plus, Bay himself said in an interview before AoE came out that there objects and characters that appear on the Knightship that would be explored more in future films.
I don't dislike The Last Knight, but it definitely felt like there were forces within the production that wanted to ignore or minimize some of the things from AoE.
Well we know that they did intended to explore Optimus and Megatron backstory in TLH, as they made concept art for an scene set in Cybertron featuring Megatron in his movie 1 body where he and Optimus were in an arena of some sort, so its possible they did planned to have that explored, but as many ideas they had for TLK, it ended up removed
His headshot looks like it’d be his online dating pic.
At least 10. Especially with all the branching ideas that come from those in the first place.
He’s got a serious swagger yeah.
If only they were being made by filmmakers interested in exploring interesting themes. I would be right there if they made a movie that was actually about all horrors of war and not just mentioning it in passing to sound interesting.
It\'s a better design than the one in movie.. Quite great looking.
That Dropkick looks like he made a good Vortex from the Combaticons.
Please move the Bumblebee art talk here. I moved all the posts about it twice from here to there. But somehow more keep getting posted here.
The BIG BUMBLEBEE CONCEPT ART THREAD
It's because the discussion on the front page links to this thread.
That explains it, thanks. I'm not involved with the front page.
Oh my. I am a sucker for some big ol\' turbine/vent shoulders. I dig it. Still haven\'t seen the movie, but these designs weren\'t used, correct?
