ILM Post Case Study of Bumblebee Movie
Bumblebee: Developing an Epic Set Piece
is that a 3rd party Arcee toy they have as Arcee reference? XD
Wish the seekers were given more unique faces but these are all cool as hell
Wished they showed the back views of the other autobots
That Thundercracker concept has way too much red on him: looks too much like Starscream. Glad they apparently went with his more traditional scheme in the film.
I still wish that light grey on Skywarp was much darker...or that he had black on him at all. But I can understand why they didn't due to how dark that scene was.
All of the designs from the cybertron scene are marked 2018 June/July. That means they did that entire scene in merely 3 to 4 months. That explains why the robots in that scene look severely inferior to the ones on Earth and Optimus, it was a rush job. I'm sure in a sequel they'll all be redesigned to have more pleasant proportions and shapes. In particular please fix Soundwave's head, he's mean to be scary and emotionless not look like a bloated Master Chief.
Alex Jaeger has done some amazing art for Transformers since TF1. The faces here are about the only thing I like.
He could've done some real cool cybertronians/protoform hybrids. But alas, that's not the direction of design they were going for anymore. Damn.
Looking at the cybertronian truck mode for Optimus, if you take away the trailer, its almost Identical to Optimus's WFC vehicle mode
I wonder if Thrust being green is an Armada reference
is that a third party Arcee used as reference?
I think it's Rouge....infact it is,
Review: FansToys FT-24 Rouge - MP-Scale Unofficial Arcee
They did such a gorgeous work all around for this movie, goddamn!
Personally, I feel like the protoforms are easily the ugliest/worst designs in the movieverse (if not the brand as a whole). I'm actually really glad they're straying away from that direction. The protoforms were never even meant to be seen for extended sequences, so I don't think they ever would have considered using them, at least for Autobots. I suppose they work as generic Decepticon stormtroopers (although the Seekers here work much better), but I can't see them returning nowadays to represent Autobots.
SHANE BAXLEY on Instagram: “These goofy little appliance #bot s were done for a fun deleted scene. Check it out on the Blu-ray or YouTube! #bumblebee #transformers…”
Oh god, that fridge is giving me flashbacks to Requiem for a dream.
ASS TO ASS
What were they thinking with those faces (Ironhide and Cliffjumper in particular)?! That is ugly! Annoyed about the discarding of that UNIQUE design of Optimus Prime. Wheeljack and Soundwave look better in these concepts, I like the latter's angularity. Blimey..
The orange and blue bots' heads are almost perfect enough to make Mirage and Huffer.
I was thinking add a cannon to his chest and he could warpath
Yeah, Armada Thrust is back!
Separate names with a comma.
