Thanks for the input! I'm holding off for now but if there's not much else on cyber Monday I may pick him up. I love the GT, the robot mode is fine but not stellar, but his transformation does look kinda fun. I'm just barely on the fence lol, it just depends what else comes up.

It's not. The 4th party improved KO of it for the same on sale price is the figure you should get if you want a good MPM.

The soft rule of thumb for MPM is that Hasbro's releases are the rough draft, and the improved 4th party version is the one you should buy, usually for 1/2 the price of better.

 

As a person who just recently bought the 4th party KOs for MPM Ratchet (2007 & DOTM), ROTF Starscream and Megatron, I agree with this statement. The Hasbro versions of the MPMs are definitely good to have if you want to transform them and experience the engineering in my opinion. But if you want a figure that looks absolutely amazing and almost statue like, get the 4th Party figures. Paint quality and detail is incredible.

And to make it BBTS related, I pre-ordered the DNA Design MPM Ironhide and SS Ironhide Upgrade Kits with some early Christmas money!

 

It boggles my mind to this day Hasbro had the bright idea to do MPM-04 Optimus Prime, and then stick him with with what's been essentially his incredibly inaccurate "toy color scheme" for most main line Optimus figures since RotF. Fortunately LT-02 came to the rescue. And then hysterically they did it again with Megatron. I just don't get the thought process. "Hey let's sell these adult collector figures, with fiddly small parts that make them completely unsuitable for children, at a $150 price point taboot. But let's also give them toy paint jobs". Like... the heck?

THe one main one I did go for was MPM-10 Starscream because I always liked the original movie paint job over the ROTF/DOTM look. Also it just happens to be the most accurate for that paint job in robot mode although it's very inaccurate in vehicle mode (the F-22 Raptor's official paintjob, which a KO uses, makes for an more inaccurate robot mode in the name of an accurate vehicle mode). I still can't believe Takara just gave up on the leg transformation on that one though.

ANd yeah those DNA kits are awesome. I got them from BBTS too.

Pretty underwhelming stuff. Not too surprising - BBTS seems to never do sales outside of the same few hundred items that have been on sale for what feels like years now.

I am weirdly tempted by the TCG packs. I know the game is dead, and I didn't even have anyone to play it with around here, but I thought it was a fun game with some fantastic art. I feel like a box or two would allow to me to create some decks and just treat it like a standalone card game rather than a TCG. At the very least, the cards make for some awesome display pieces.

I got the seeker 3 pack notice a day before the ER Thundercracker and Skywarp notice, so I guess they will drop tomorrow lol or maybe in the next couple of weeks, I already waited for ER Thundercracker and Skywarp for months so some more weeks will not make a difference

 

Are the 3 Glaciallord members for sale worth getting on their own???

 

I'd say yes. They are nice g1-homaging bots, however, getting the two other Glacialord bots to complete the combiner will likely cost an arm and a leg.
