Pretty simple, what in your opinion is the best or most perfect Transformer toy ever made? And why is it the ultimate in awesome?

Also, I'm only talking about official product from either Hasbro or Takara (or licensees).

Optimus Prime First edition... I cannot find any problems in that figure.

For me, since I really don't mind shell-forming, the perfect Transformer toy is Big Convoy. A fun transformation, a nice heft, a wonderfully heroic air, tons of gimmicks, and the first removable Matrix that can be held by figures with a 5 Mm hole.

I prefer a figure that has an intuitive transformation (not too tough but not overly simple), fun in both modes and will survive the ages.
There are numerous figures I'd consider to be excellent and worthy of being called the best in my collection, but I'm going to say Cybertron Leader Optimus Prime.
The figure has a fun transformation, the alt mode has a lot going on, and the bot mode is chunky and enjoyable.

My opinion will probably change this coming March, though...

ROTF Leader mold, either Buster or Asia Striker Prime. If I was.forced to sell all my official TFs this would be the one I'd keep, over ANY Takara/Hasbro MP or other official figure.

The single best stand alone figure is (IMO)

    MP1 Convoy.

It's just awesome, from it's features, to everything. A lot of people lament the Alt mode, but I quite like it's chunky angular aesthetic. Plus full suspension! What other Transformer has suspension?

None I'll wager. Except MP2 Ultra Magnus I guess.

I love god ginrai more than most, but I don't think it is the "perfect" transformer.

one of the "best" ever made is I have to say the original armada megatron. he has a bunch of features, good articulation, combines with tidal wave, fun transformation

    MP Star Saber.

My childhood realised in a single, absolutely perfect figure.
And even leaving my bias aside, there hasn't been a TF ever that matches his animation counterpart to the point that they're next to identical. A lot of features and gimmicks for an MP too, and they found how to incorporate all the articulation despite the design.

Yeah, good call on Armada Megatron/Tidal Wave. So awesome. Probably my favorite Megatron figure ever made. Either that one or G2 green and purple tank Megatron, which I also love.

God Ginrai is perfect for me because it's such an involved figure with so many different display possibilities. The cab pulling two trailers looks awesome. Ginrai the engine block is cool, the way it clicks into the grill is cool as hell, the way the cab slides into the chest of Super Ginrai is cool, Super Ginrai standing next to God Bomber is awesome, and God Ginrai with all the parts attached and shiny chestplate is AMAZING.

I've got giant MP-01, I've got Buster Prime, but I can't think of any figure that beats God Ginrai as an impressive, beautiful display piece. Even mighty Fortress Maximus with its incredible size, I rank as a tie.

For its time I would say G1 Jetfire, the articulation is amazing and better than some figures released today.
MP10 is a stand out figure for today

I absolutely love MP-01 even more than MP-10. The suspension detail is one of hte things about it that truly rockets it up to one of the highest on my favorites list.

Oh, and Cybertron Leader Prime has suspension in the rear wheels.

This. Although between the two, I'd probably give it to Fort Max. God Ginrai's wing pack lacks the presence that the cartoon gives it.

Runner up is Cybertron Optimus Prime/Galaxy Force Galaxy Convoy.

Mp-10. As of right now it is the best representation of G1 Optimus Prime. It is aesthetically more a pleasing in robot mode and definitely in truck mode compared to mp 01. Some people love the tall figure, heavy diecast bulk, and gimmicks of mp 01. I don't and that is another reason why I enjoy the figure.
