Well, considering there is threads like the popping up lately, like... Thebeastman's Would anyone else be interested in a new "Universe 1.0" line? Galvatron1998's If there was a Botcon 2017... & SG Roadbuster's Creative Challenge: GDO Now, to add to all this, we have... The Battle in a Box thread. The idea of the thread is simple. Originally the battle in a box consist of two deluxe-sized figures, both being redecos. One autobot. One Decepticon. (And sometimes a minicon or two, if the figure included it.) A prime example is the Ultra Magnus VS Treadshot pack. But to begin, here is a template to see how it goes. Example: Sideswipe (UW Lightspeed Redeco, Based on the Armada autobot) VS Nemesis Prime (Warrior class (Deluxe-sized) Power Surge Optimus Prime) Well, let's begin.
You know you people are running my idea mill to death, I'm running out of ideas! Anyway lets see what I can come up with... Some CHUG box sets... Swoop (Retool of Titans Return Mindwipe w/Ptero) vs Airwave (New head redeco of Combiner Wars Silverbolt) Leadfoot (Redeco of Combiner Wars Mirage) vs Smolder (Redeco of Combiner Wars Offroad) Backfire (New head redeco of Combiner Wars Groove) vs Oil Pan (Redeco of Combiner Wars Breakdown) Blaze Master (New head redeco of Combiner Wars Skyburst/Stormclash) vs Barricade (Redeco of Combiner Wars Drag Strip) Blast Master (Redeco of Unite Warriors Blast Off) vs Meltdown (Redeco of Combiner Wars Offroad) Tailspin (New head redeco of Combiner Wars Wheeljack) vs Tracer (Redeco of Combiner Wars Alpha Bravo) Stakeout (New head redeco of Combiner Wars Streetwise) vs Bombshock (New head redeco of Combiner Wars Brawl) Some Robots in Disguise box sets... Red Alert (Redeco of RID15 Warrior Sideswipe) vs Slipstream (Retool of RID15 Warrior Windblade) Warpath (New head redeco of RID15 Warrior Megatronus) vs Overkill (Redeco of RID15 Warrior Grimlock) Afterbreaker (New head redeco of RID15 Fracture) vs Barricade (New head redeco of RID15 Jazz) Thundercracker (Repaint of RID15 Starscream) & Skywarp (Repaint of RID15 Starscream) Seriously at this point between the three threads Hasbro should just hire me!
Battle in a box is a great way to build Combiner Wars Characters for all the ones who got stepped over or missed out for other reasons (like an RID version existing as with Sideswipe). We could have things like (Combiner Wars) Sideswipe Vs Slicer Hoist Vs Thundercracker Silverstreak vs Sunstorm Jazz vs Skywarp Wreck Gar (deluxe Groove with new head) vs Detritus Autobot Ratchet (perhaps in red or yellow) vs Shuttle Blast Off (toy colours) Or G2 Offroad vs G2 Alpha Bravo G2 Groove (deluxe) vs G2 Blast off (shuttle) The advantage of making a G2 Groove in such a way 1st is then people will not complain when / if there is a G2 Defensor Boxed set that contains Legends Groove & Rook. and it side steps the problem of otherwise excluding him or Legends Groove Also Perhaps Legends Class 3 packs might work too ? Maybe based around the e-Hobby Minibots characters or including the likes of Titans Returns Eject, & Frenzy or even Dion
"Sky High Rescue" Skyfeather (uw Strafe redeco) vs G2 Sandstorm (UW Thrust in desert camo) "Bunker Busters" Heatrock (uw Nosecone redeco) vs Quake (cw Brawl) "Buy Four of These" Sweep (cw Strafe) vs Junkion (cw deluxe Groove) "I'm Drunk" Devastina (rid windblade in Constructicon colours) vs Car Saber (rid Drift decoed to resemble GT-R Saber)
The Shitz-n-Giggles box Binaltech Optimus VS Megatron (Off-Road redeco w/ axe and Priime Bumblebee arm blasters vs Dead End retool w/ new head and arm cannon) Leader of Integrity Galvatron VS Starscream (TR Hardhead w/ new head and a blue version of that Starsaber shaped Construct-Bot sword VS a cartoon accurate Powerlinx redeco of Gen Armada Starscream, possibly with new more accurate sword.)
"One Bad Spark" - Detective Grimdark (TR Chromedome w/ the Siren TM in Batmobile colors and Batman TAS costume paintapps in robot mode) and Joywonder (CW Groove in Robin colors) vs Sparktwister (T30 Jhiaxus in classic Joker colors) and Charlie Wind (Prime Cyberverse Airachnid in Harley Quinn colors).
