I'm still waiting on what the story will be and some footage before forming an opinion. While I like the original idea of forming a gun into a bat-symbol, I'm not sure I really care for it as much. I mean I get it, it's clever for sure, but I don't know. Maybe with footage and context it will come off better.

 

I bet people are analyzing the Wayne's death scene in Joker to if the gun used matches up with the bat symbol on the new suit. I'm sure there's already a Youtube video saying it is.

 

Batman looks great. He reminds me of MCU Daredevil. The Batsuit has evolved over the years but now we have something that's the best fit of lightness and strength.

Pattinson looks appropriately imposing and brooding in it.



I don't buy the "Bat symbol is a gun" idea though. To my mind, those strips of metal are most likely batarangs or some device.

Giacchino's music sounds atmospheric and intense, taking the best from Elfman and Zimmer but making it his own music.

 

Based on the available info, this is my running theory as well. Not a detachable weapon, just symbolism with a tiny bit of extra armoring. The fact that issue #1000 was fairly recent and has the benefit of the name recognition of Kevin Smith and Jim Lee makes it pretty likely it got into the film maker's radar.

There are things I like about the new costume, there are things I don't. But, I want to withhold judgement on the whole thing until I've seen the final thing in a trailer.

 

I'm pretty pumped for this! The batsuit looks good to me so far! Curious about the length of the bat ears. Such a tease, not showing them XD

 

I feel she definitely has the look down with her haircut. At least.

 

I dig that look.   Gives off a Batman Returns vibe. I'd be cool if her suit evokes the Batman TAS design too.

 

In regards to my thoughts on the Batsuit.

The chest emblem does have that Arkham Knight feel to it and I like the idea of Bruce sewing gun handles onto it.

The bat cowl looks fine.

 

The only issue I have with thinking the chest is made of guns is my friend is a gun nut and no gun I have ever held has the belt hooks like it does in this one's handle.

 

I like the high collar, gives me a Gotham by Gaslight vibe.

Idk how I feel about the gun symbol theory. Seems a bit heavy-handed, but I guess comic book heroes aren’t known for their subtlety.

 

The new Batman theme sounds similar to Hans Zimmers theme with a mix of imperial march.

 

Suit looks nice. I read somewhere that the bat- symbol is actually made out of the gun that killed his parents, neat idea.

God, this looks like it came from these old B&W serials.

 

It looks homemade, that's for sure. According to the people taking set photo pics, this suit is apparently all black & grey as well - no blue. Yet.

I can get used to the suit, but that cowl is terrible.

 

Not quite sure how to feel about the suit. On the one hand, I do think the body armor look kind of wore out its welcome with the DK trilogy; on the other hand, I REALLY like that this body armor isn't some super-slick prototype that looks like it was made by a guy made of money.
I am liking the Batcycle, though.
