Agreed. The "history" of the subject matter has little bearing on the final success.
I also kind of chuckle the way threads discussions go on little tangents and stuff.
Sorry about the spoiler...I forgot to use the tag. Is it possible for a mod to edit my post if they see the spoiler?
Just watched the Avengers and it was AMAZING. But I dont think the action was better than any of the TF movies, but it came close. Also, I wouldnt call it bigger than DOTM by any means. In fact, I thought the Avengers felt rather small for what I was expecting.
The confirmed totals of both domestic and foreign markets are in for monday...the result? $744 million - more than the first Bayformers movie has made since its release...yeah, it's gonna roflpwn DOTM.
or... you could.
Yeah it tells you: "Hulk Smash!"
Actually alot of directors of directors (including even Wendon) can learn about how to show a lot abpot a character in little time from Michael Bay. I mean how many scenes can you name in the TF movies that don't reveal something about the characters?
See, in TFW2005´s language, the military should be there to just die and make the Transformers look good by default. How dare they stand up sucefully to the Transformers?!
I keep hearing that. What the hell does that mean!?
So, you are saying that if you don't go down in a glorious heroic sacrifice, you died suckishly. Hm.
His name is Phil Coulson. Thor's last name is Odinson. Thor is the son of Odin. Thor assumes Coulson is the son of Coul, which isn't entirely inaccurate.
Wat. Still annoys me.
Even so, Thor calls him that in the thor movie. It's a funny scene that shows the royal nature of Thor and how much he doesn't fit on earth. And it's a heck of a cool way to call someone
I don't find it funny. Maybe, if more in context...but, whatever.
Yeah, quality film making by people who care about the long time fans AND the new movie audience can make money, and apparently bucket loads.
Mind not blown. Common fucking sense.
Have you seen Thor? If not, WATCH IT. You still may not find the scene funny (hey, to each their own), but at least you'll have context.
By your logic, in Avengers the police should have been taking down bad guys with their pistols no problem. The heroes should've been in the background just doing whatever.
Actually I was thinking more of tanks and SPAAGs busting aliens left and right. Considering how poorly armed and how awfully designed from a combat vehicle perspective those things were, any modern military would score obscene kill rations against them. Their biggest thing/vehicle the flying fish thing wasn´t even armed with ranged weaponry and it was slow as fuck. Any jet or combat helicopter would have being doing circles around it while pelting it with AP ammo or ATGMs.
That and the aliens lacked any heavy weapons to boot and even then BW was killing a fair few with her pistols alone. So yeah, they were a poor threat, only made credible because there were a lot more them than they were bullets. Quantity has a quality of it´s own.
Russian Shilkas alone would have made a number on those things.
I was actually disapointed SHIELD didn´t brought their carrier wings against the aliens.
Keep in mind that helicarrier was crippled by Loki's attack not too long ago, and even though IM & Cap helped fixed one of the propellers I doubt it was in combat ready state. I can understand why they sat that one out.
I already did, but obviously a bit too late.
Separate names with a comma.
