Its a 15% restocking fee for anything after 30/90 days, though I'm not sure which. If you're returning it within that time you just have to pay return shipping to get it to them.

Yeah, you pay that extra $3.

    Fulfillment by Amazon.

Stored, packed, and shipped by Amazon!
Eligible for Free Super Saver Shipping
    Amazon Customer Service 24 x 7
Track your delivery to your door

For someone who's always looking to save a dollar or two, for someone who gets mad at BBTS for charging a dollar or two more than Toys R Us, you're not really doing even minimal research, are you?

its fulfilled by Amazon....so Amazon has the item...right? anyway....it works out good for me since I do get charged tax by Amazon....buying 3rd party I don't, so....works for some, doesn't for others, I guess....

Yeah, fifty bucks was impossible for me to pass on. And when it says Fulfilled By Amazon, that does mean that they're the ones with the item.

I didn't know Amazon charges tax while their independent sellers don't, so that's a nice little bonus for going with them.

Yeah, in my experience so far, it seems when you buy 3rd party, no taxes are charged....but sometimes shipping applies unless its fulfilled by AMZ. In this case, since it was fulfilled by AMZ...i saved a few more bucks....nice!!! BTW...the seller sold out....those went fast!!!

Because you are returning it for no good reason costing the business money when they had done nothing wrong, there was nothing wrong with the service you received or the product.

Well, this is tricky, really. They allow you to return an item in 30 days with no issues. Same as any other store. If the item was never opened, in theory they can resell the item.

The problem arises that the company does not have a price guarantee.

So for any consumer, they would be forced to return the item and buy it at the new discounted price.

So, the company is technically costing itself money. But at the same time, they are also saving themselves money because they know that most people won't go through the hassle of sending back an item for the savings.

In cases such as this, a consumer would have to be nuts not to send back the item if they can get a 50% discount on it. Amazon should understand that and price match, because they are in a no win situation. They should credit the cards back. They are actually smart for giving a credit on the next purchase as that assures money coming back to amazon.

So it is not anyone "screwing the man" or anything else like that. It is playing by the rules that the seller sets up. As long as you can return a closed package within 30 days without a reason, then the consumer is not doing anything wrong.

I haven't returned anything to a shop since I was buying games for my ZX Spectrum and even then I came up with the excuse that it wouldn't load.

I think I'm just having a bit of a culture shock with this American way of doing things.

is this still a preorders/instock thread or a diatribe on American consumerism? Prefer people to stick to the topic or GTFO

American way of doing things? Damn i figure everyone on the planet with a brain would try to get an item for the cheapest price available, espicially with Amazon having the repuation for taking care of its customers........

yes I called when I saw the Price of Prime go down and guess what, the Amazon Rep, seeing that Amazon had completly messed up my Order of my 24In R rated Ted, they refunded my $62.00 of the $75.00 I spent, why because they want to keep me as a customer, and because they made things right, I will shop with them again. Its as much about business/professional relationships between the store and the consumer as much as it is about money

I don't know about anything else, but when I tried to return a game I bought from Amazon a couple weeks ago I could do it no problem, but when I selected the option of "just didn't want it anymore" or whatever it is, they would have given me a full refund, except they would have taken out about $5 for shipping it back to them.

Which seems reasonable to me since it was basically my fault that I was returning it. Not that I did end up returning it, but still.

If they did you probably wouldn't get these short term discounts or flash sales at all.

I'm just gonna take this to Unpopular Opinions ;)
