Amazon does that frequently too. I have gotten it many times.

 

I had to do it with some MOTU pre-orders on Amazon. I don’t know if I eventually missed some iterations, but the figures eventually were cancelled. (Not to scare anyone.)

 

This delay/cancellation business is why I back up my orders between Amazon and Pulse.

My perception on this (driven by observation, but purely speculative) is that Amazon has the stock but is holding it until Hasbro has a chance to deliver to all retailers. Retailers know that the preorder game results in a lot of cancelled orders once one retailer gets their stock in before their competition. While it would be impossible for Hasbro to coordinate simultaneous delivery to all of their "retail partners," I suspect they implore distribution be halted until the playing ground is level-ish. It does seem that individual retailers seem to take turns being the first out of the gate for certain deliveries, resulting in no one retailer seeming to get it first. So they probably received the stock and were preparing to ship but got waved off by Hasbro until WM, Target, and the like all have it delivered to warehouse.

That's my theory anyway.

 

I’d say more likely someone just tagged the wrong items with the wrong date and now they’re going back and correcting it.

 

That could be true; but then again, Amazon held the Sweeps back until their February street date, when everywhere else had them in stock since the end of last year

 

Mine are all still saying Monday, no delay approval things or anything.

On the bright side for those worried about this being a situation with cancelations, these are mainline figures and should be readily available after release, especially etailers.

Same here Crankcase is still showing monday by 10pm for me.

Same. It's also worth noting that the person who had to approve a delay also only recently ordered. It's entirely possible that Amazon is getting enough product early to fill a good deal of their initial preorders but not enough to fill their more recent orders. Time will tell, but I've seen this happen before where Hasbro products show up way early. Hell, BBTS dropped Marvel Legends Retro Firelord into my POL last week and he wasn't supposed to be out until February of next year either. It happens.

Probably gonna break some hearts with this..... So I was curious to see what would happen if I did the update card thing that we normally do to update the shipping date. We'll it updated.... to order received with no estimated delivery date..... darn. Guessing there was actually an error this time. I also ordered as soon as they became available.

 

I can confirm this. All the “early” wave items are back to their 2023 expected dates.

 

Yep, same. But I'd rather that than to have some bug cancel the order. NBD.
