Whenever possible order preorder things from Amazon on different orders. If it shows shipping on the same day (Rodimus, Tracks, Ark) then they will charge for all even if it is only Tracks and then credit the rest back. That has been my experience.

I've have never have it charge the entire order before for orders with multiple items that don't ship at the same time. I have alerts setup from my credit card, any time a charge goes thru, so it's not like I never noticed it got adjusted before I got a statement. I do have the Amazon Visa, so not sure if that handles it any different than others.

How many more years till algorithms get outlawed cause clearly they are going to be a threat to our way of life. Pretty sure algorithms done more damage to society than this pandemic.

Amazon might have the access to view the available credit on their own cards without sending a test ping, so that makes sense.

How do you outlaw an algorithm? All an algorithm is is a series of instructions to solve a problem. In this case, the 'problem' is how to price stuff to make Amazon the most money. If you're going to regulate companies, you have to regulate their behavior, not how they implement the behavior.

It's showing a 3rd party price b/c it's currently sold out from Amazon directly.

Not that I am doubting you, but that's so weird. I've never seen that happen before. They just take whatever 3rd seller price is there when it's out of stock?

Huh? That happens all the time. Amazon sells out and then it defaults to showing a third party seller+price instead.

I'm surprised you haven't seen it before. Yeah, if it's not currently available directly from Amazon, the listing will often show the cheapest third party option.

     woah, I'm the only one who did not know I guess. I've seen them raise prices on in stock items when 3rd party prices are higher. I never noticed it for out of stock items.

They put up the 3rd Party seller's price who's paying, when Amazon runs out of stock/pre-order slots.

Those are all over the place now. For a toy that retails for $9.99, $25 sounds like a rip off, but if someone is willing to pay, more power to ya.

Man, at this point $25 for Kingdom Soundwave doesn't sound that bad. I cannot seem to actually get this guy. Had a MSRP pre-order with Amazon set to arrive last week, but it got delayed to late August, so I canceled (which I'm now regretting) and placed an order at GameStop that is apparently stuck in processing? No idea if/when that will actually ship. And otherwise Soundwave is sold out everywhere at MSRP.

I found a couple hanging on the pegs at WM a couple days ago. It's like anything... soon it'll hit saturation and you'll regret paying more than retail for it, I assure you.
