Amazon just shipped my Kingdom Inferno!
Just got Core Class Soundwave.
mine was pushed back to aug 10....sigh
Is anyone concerned that Grindor and Jolt will ship before Hasbro announces them? It's odd because preorders are usually months away before the figures ship, but this time would these figures ship like weeks before there is any official announcement from Hasbro? Or would they be delayed?
I don't care one bit if toys ship before Hasbro announces them, or if Hasbro skips an announcement altogether.
The winner by an hour or so is scorponok.
And it wasn't by running.
Those legs are short.
But he's here.
I got Galvatron with the incorrect shoulders from Amazon yesterday, along with Soundwave and the Radioactive Don.
I was like f*** it, let's fix this thing!
Took about 30 minutes and a lot of cuss words... but absolutely no scratches, and not a single stress mark at all using a nylon pry tool!
With the amount of force and crazy wedging motion I had to use, I can't imagine the crazy amount damage I personally would've caused using a metal flat head screw driver.
Did the rivets pop back in?
They do, and to make it easier the holes are 5mm. So you can use any accessory with a 5mm peg to press them back into place.
Ah! I didn't think to use a 5 mm accessory.
I put a little bit of duct tape on the tip of a hex screw driver and used it to carefully push the rivet back in.
It goes back in without much force.
Available for pre-order: Transformers Generations Collaborative: Jurassic Park Mash-Up Tyrannocon Rex & Autobot JP93
Incorrect shoulders Galvatron arrived today.
They still have to announce them, because otherwise other sites like BBTS or EE can't upload preorder listings for them.
Still, it'll be really off if Amazon ships both Grindor and Jolt before Hasbro even officially announces them
Waffled on whether or not to try fixing Galvatron's shoulders or waiting. Ended up fixing. Honestly it was harder getting the arms back on than off.
Watch a YouTube video to see what you're getting into first. Here are my three main tips from my experience:
Lego brick separators are great pry tools if you don't have the nylon pry bars you see in all the vids.
I used a low-heat soldering iron with a fine tip to heat the metal pin. It slid out with much less force. I knew it was long enough when the wedged-in Lego brick pullers started to move. I did slip and touched the plastic. No damage. Their plastic does pretty well with high heat.
To push the brad back in, I used an Allen wrench with a smooth rounded tip and palmed the front of the shoulder. The final 'click' took a bit of pressure.
Looks great, but there will be stress marks on the inside of the arm. I think this is unavoidable due to the amount of bending you have to do. Not sure if this will cause issues years down the road.
I'm glad I did the fix but it was very stressful. Not for everyone, no shame in waiting for a corrected copy.
It just shipped. I'm getting Scorponok tomorrow.
My Scorponok that I reordered for $20 moved up from August 23 to July 16. One I ordered for a friend moved from September 1 to August 11
Try heating the stress marks with a hair dryer. It should melt the stress marks away.
Oh the stress marks are only on the inside of the hollow arm, not visible once it's put back together, I just noticed them when I was looking closely at the bicep rotational assembly. I mostly mentioned it because there's been a lot of posts about 'no stress marks at all', and while there aren't any visible on the outside, someone might care about interior stress? I don't know, some collectors are very particular, so it's more of a PSA.
My Galvatron is still set for september, no mouvement (.ca). While I envy those that already got him, that might be a good news. Hopefully I’ll get the correct shoulders. Meanwhile I tried looking for core Soundwave and there is only 3rd party selling for 60$ ! No thanks, it’ll be in stock eventually
Honestly he's probably my favorite kingdom figure so far. I can't stop thinking about him.
