Nice. If it's at least slightly new reader friendly, then maybe I'll jump in when Peter returns...

My Problem is the Movie Avengers are so limited because there's only been one film but to me it's like Gee Marvel I like the films I don't need to see them everywhere I guarantee that Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch will become just as Prominent after Avengers 2

About time the Amazing Spider-Man returned. Knew it would happen sooner or later, but I was never a fan of SpOck...

The movies at least do some things right - like you know actually give an ending to a big storyline instead of having it sputter and just lead in to another dragging storyline.

I miss days when big event comics - the equivalent of a summer blockbuster - actually give you a decent ending and yet still makes you want to read more!

That said, comics should also try to be more open to new readers - not alienate them with loads of bad twisting storylines and really decompressed issues. Seriously, just look at how confusing the X-Men have become - and I went through the 90s incarnations!

And they're ending Superior. Sadly knew it. Well, good-bye best comic Spidey series in a long time. I'll finish it up and abandon Spidey again.

    Thats an awesome cover.

Is it just a reboot kind of deal or a continuation from Superior?

Kind of wish they'd continue with 701 if it is a continuation. Just sucks too see they've gone up to 700 and start over.

Superior's ending. Peter's returning like everyone knew he would. It's not the first time they've restarted with #1

Yep and we were right about the renumbering too. Now lets see if Amazing goes back to the old numbering system next time it reaches a milestone number like predicted as well.

I'm still new to Marvel (well comics in general), but when did they restart back at #1 with the same Peter Parker? Is Peter Parker from AM#1 (1963) the same Peter Parker from AM #700?

Yes it's the same character. As for restarting, what TheIncredibleHulk is saying is that this isn't the first time Marvel's abandoned the numbering system only to resume it later on. They've done it before during the late 90s, cancelled the old series, and restarted the numbering at 1, only to then change it back when the totals of the new series added to the totals of the old series reached a big number - I believe it was 500, and kept on going till 700. Marvel will probably go back to the old numbering when the totals are close to 800.

It's all the same Peter Parker

If I remember correctly, when they relaunched Amazing Spiderman #1 last time, Parker had "retired" and someone else was running around as Spiderman. Turned out to be a girl named Mattie, who padded the suit to make it look like she was a dude.

Yeah I think the reason why X-men isn't as popular as it used to be is because they make too many new characters each year who then become wallpaper, then there's the several teams and as of Schism two Factions. I think it's popularity stemmed from the fact the cast was small and each looked Unique like Nightcrawler and it was easier to follow due to only having one book but now there's so many characters some of which look similar to others like Hope and Teen Jean, Transonic and Mystique.

And the amount of events X-men goes through are all just shock value for the sake of shock value like Schism just split the team up with no foreshadowing and came off really consistent.

Anyone have any opinions on Remender's Secret Avengers? Was he able to reach a satisfying ending at issue #37?

I'm working through his Uncanny X-Force run, right now, and I'm enjoying it.

It was pretty good. The story dragged on a bit, but from what I've read of his stuff that seems to be fairly typical for Remender.
