I think Stern's run is better. Although I do enjoy Englehart's run to some extent (I'm actually in the middle of rereading the Celestial Madonna saga now). But Stern's run is a great bridge between classic Avengers and more modern comics. I can kind of just enjoy his run normally as good comics on their own, as opposed to thinking, "This is a cute artifact of its era" or something, the way I do with Thomas' run.

I’m pretty sure it’s tied to Hickman’s upcoming X-men. This is exactly the kind of document he’s produce for the book.

Weapon I is Captain America, X is Wolverine, and XIII is Fantomex iirc. It’s hinting he’s going to be using the world and expanding on the Weapons Plus project.

It could also be a promo for the upcoming Wolverine and Captain America crossover (which may be hiding more information than we believed), but your theory is more likely to be true.

Ah, okay -- thought it might be for some Weapon Plus book/story.

The third doc definitely refers to Fantomex/Charlie Cluster.

@DrTraveler I read volume one of Secret Warriors. Got a full on look at Hickman’s love of maps. Had no idea that Bendis was involved in the series’ opening arc.

And recently I finally acquired Jim Starlin’s complete Captain Marvel Collection! Now I finally have the other major part of The Thanos War!

Yeah this appears to be the case. Not a Hickman hint it appears.

Hickman has always been gracious towards Bendis about his big break at Marvel, but what I understand is that Bendis’s sole contribution was to suggest: “What if Nick Furry had been an agent of Hydra the whole time!!!” Hickman went on to create a pretty awesome arc out of that.

Ok, that’s not fair. Bendis did introduce the Secret Warriors in Mighty Avengers during Secret Invasion. And those issues were cool. And he created Daisy back in his Secret Wars mini-series which kinda serves as a prequel book for New Avengers.

It did list him as the Secret Warriors creator, so yeah, he gets credit there.

Well, with SDCC next month, we’ll know what X Books will be launching after Hickman’s initial Mini Series wrap up......we know Wolverine probably has a monthly, as he has a Annual, but I wonder what else we’re getting......a new Uncanny? Another Gambit and Rogue Book? A pipe dream, I know, but Cyclops and Phoenix ongoing? X-Factor?

How old is Chris? Why not just get him on an ongoing or something more substantial? Can’t be any worse than what we’ve been getting.

Unrelated: Anyone listen to the Marvel Wolverine podcast? I loved season 1, the story and voice acting was top notch ... I’m Jones’n for season 2 this July!

    He’s 68.

And I’ve heard quite a bit he’s not as good as he used to be. Besides, Jonathan Hickman’s bound to turn the X-Men ship around.

I hope, but I seriously have my doubts. Before he can turn the ship around he needs to put the pieces back together.
