Marvel Announces Merry X-Men One-Shot Holiday Special

 

Man Dan Slott's She-Hulk and Thing comics were great. He really excelled doing those short 1-2 part stories. I remember first noticing him on DC's Batman Adventures books where he was doing stories in a similar vein.

 

An actual non-event random X-Men one-shot? The franchise really is back out of the doghouse.

Avengers #8 gives details regarding She-Hulk’s new appearance.

Evidently it was caused by exposure to the Celestials. She now contains MASSIVE amounts of gamma energy, which she can unleash with explosive results. But it also reduces her mental capacities when she’s transformed. As she put it,”talking like a dimwit.” Evidently this ability is something that not even Bruce has been able to do.

She also has her new outfit. Which is basically the same as a lot of her prior ones.

And Thor gets all awkward when around her.  

In addition the Avengers get a new base in the form of the Progenitors corpse. Granted to them by the Celestials. The Avengers all have a hard time navigating it.

Black Panther is named the Avengers chairman, Doctor Strange departs, Tony and Carol bury the hatchet(though she immediately sends Tony through a wall seconds later, which he kinda deserved).

And it seems that Carol is back to long hair now.

 

Just in time for the movie. What a convenient way to be able to ignore Mar-Vell.  

 

Kind of reminds me of what they did with Giganta in DC when they brought her back about about 15 years ago. Thankfully they used magic as a off-panel excuse to get rid of that limitation during the "Who is Wonder Woman" story arc.

I just read the first issue of Wolverine's new mini-series. So..

Wolverine is a clone? Or kinda like Zero in the Rockman X saga (same soul but new body)?

 

Having seen it both Avengers #8 and Immortal Hulk #6, it’s save to say that Carol is back to her long hair. No doubt because of the movie.

 

Not a total one. The Enemy Within is one of the cornerstones of this version of Captain Marvel, and the Psyche-Magnatron is the reason for her brain problem in that story (and her powers, by extension). That's not going anywhere.

 

Good. The 90's animated series cemented the Xavier/Lilandra shipping for me.

 

Sure she's gonna want to teach her deadbeat dad a lesson for all the years of torture her mother endured because of him lol.
