There was an arc in the Wolverine ongoing, right around issue 50, either 47-50 or 50-53, that I thought was great. It was when they really started unpacking some of the Weapon X stuff instead of teasing it along. 50 was the die-cut cover that looked like a Weapon X dossier, I remember that much, but can't recall if that was part I or part III of the story. Haven't read it for years, but I remember thinking it was an exceptional arc.

    Also - WTF is Ghost-Spider?!?

A one-off where Spider-Man became the Ghost Rider. And some fans liked the mashup.

I thought “Ghost Spider” was what they were using as Spider-Gwen’s codename in other media?

Is there a reason she’s always making one of her hands huge? I get she’s a shapeshifter, but surely there’s other ways to show that visually then the same “giant foam hand” she does constantly.

Strictly speaking she isn't a shapeshifter anymore. Once her powers "stabilized" she became more of a cross between Stature and Mr Fantastic than Mystique. Typically in her solo she can be more creative (embiggening her feet to cross bodies of water, body trampoline, etc), but for covers and team-ups that's kind of her thing. Embiggened Fists, stretchy arms and legs, growing and shrinking.

It's possible that in the future she'll relearn how to make other shapes. I know lots of fans want Couch Kamala to make a comeback.

I read Weapon H today. It was surprisingly good. Pak is Marvel's best writer.

    Okay Thanos,
Silver Surfer proves more then a match for both of them thanks to Mjolnir. Using it he shatters Cosmic Ghost Riders skull. The tide turns when Hulk is unleashed on Surfer, who whales on Surfer until he calms Hulk down and turns him back into Banner. This distracts Surfer long enough for King Thanos to impale them both with the Twilight Sword, killing Banner. Thanos then tears of Surfer’s hammer arm, and King Thanos finishes him... by impaling his head on Mjolnir’s upward facing handle, fulfilling the promos he made to Surfer earlier that he would kill him with the hammer. And with the Surfer’s death, Death finally appears... wearing a wedding dress...

    Speaking of Mjolnir,
In Thor, Jane defeats Mangog by wrapping him Dwarven forged chains and having Mjolnir fly him into the sun, apparently destroying them both. Jane then removes her helmet and her and Thor share one final kiss before she dies...

It was a bittersweet but wonderful ending. I hated Female Thor at first. I thought of it as a pandering stunt that wasn't going to last more than 6 issues. I was so glad I was wrong. Jane as Thor quickly became one my utmost favorite Marvel characters; It's such a good book.

I think it helped that she was an already established character. Rather then a new one we forced to care about.

One of the few diversity pushes that didn’t back fire.

I wonder if people remember what a nothing Jane used to be. I can't even remember when she finally became kind of a real character. The JMS series (blech) maybe?
