I generally hate everything about Secret Empire and am aggressively avoiding it, but if this event includes Sally Floyd getting murdered by a firing squad then I think I can start accepting it.

I thought it was a poke at a real life person that can't be talked about on here, that likes to rage on Twitter :)

I'm actually kind of interested in this. Helps that, for the time being, it doesn't look like it'll rossover with any of Marvel's other titles. That said, I'll wait to get it in trades. I don't need to add three miniseries to my pull list. I wonder if plans for this is why we never got that "Gwenom" story arc in Spider-Gwen we were suposed to get last year.

Speaking of, anyone up to date on Spider-Gwen? I've been thinking about getting back into the title, but want to read some feedback from those who have still been following it.

I'm really close to dropping it. It's felt like the book has been floundering a bit ever since the Spider-Women crossover and the three-month Spider-Man team-up was a huge momentum killer, especially since it was more of a Miles story that co-opted Gwen's book.

Well, it's just Marvel recycling some of his old artwork; they're limited by whatever they have on hand.

I'm really curious to know if Lee is getting any new money for these.

But that's the point, all of these are recycled art from the cards, and they do have art for Wolverine and Beast, unless the orientation is the issue, but it just seems weird that two of the X-Men needed to complete Blue Team or even the TV roster are missing, and Wolverine is arguably the most popular X-Man, possibly still the one most often requested of Lee from Marvel when doing sketches.

Oh, wow, that's too bad. I was kinda hoping it had picked back up since I dropped it. The character and her version of Earth are interesting, and the book was pretty good for a while, but I have to agree that it really started to go downhill after the Spider-Women crossover.

I didn't even make it to the Miles crossover. Not that I dislike the character (I actually like his apearances in Gwenpool), but the story for the crossover didn't sound interesting, and I don't really have an interest in reading about a college aged chick start up a romantic relationship with a character that I'm pretty sure is still a minor.
I hope they're paying them, since they are essentially making money off of his name, but part of me doubts they are.

Actually they probably don't have to pay him since those were done under the old contracts.
That was one of the reasons the Image group left, they would see their old artwork reused on T-shirts puzzles, and so on. But they didn't get paid for it, and if they wanted one of the T-shirts they had to spend their own money to buy one.

I don't think that actually happened. Honestly, I only read the SGwen chapters, and even then I skipped the last issue out of indifference. I think it was just a promotional gimmick.

They did the same thing with X-23 and Kid Cyclops a few years back. But, like I said, I didn't read all of the issues so I may have missed some smooching somewhere.

I thought it was more of a callback/jab at her "Myspace and NASCAR" remarks to Cap all the way back in Civil War.

lol that would be great, and very funny, not to mention well-remembered, but I do think it's really a jab at the readers. Just like most stuff is these days.
