And there we go. There's the "Hail Hydra" explanation. I'm glad we were all level-headed and waited until the revelation... :rolleyes2

While I don't share your level of ire, I do agree that some "fans" have acted very foolishly (burning comics, ffs), over a whole lot of nothing.

Good thing we were all civil about this. Would've started a war if not.

I'm surprised by how many of us were civil (sarcasm). I also think all the 'outrage' shows how little most "fans" know about Cap.

I'm shocked. No way, I can't believe it's not real and was just a gimmick to get attention and sell books!

I think most people thought it harolded another stupid storyline.

Which it seems to be. Plus as others have pointed out something that's so old and Hackneyed even Kirby and Lee already did a variation on it.

As I said then, reading about it took all my interest away from the book and issue #2 hasn't done anything to add to it.
I haven't really enjoyed the Captain since Brubaker left the book.

Unfortunately, a lot of people are extremely prone to reacting to these things these days. Those people should see the covers and storylines we got during the 60s and 70s - these things are a huge part of comics.

As a long time Cap reader though, I appreciate how Spencer also incorporates older stories into his work, without being too complicated - that part with Skull getting his arm cut off with the cube was from the 1990s Waid/Garney Operation Rebirth run!

It's like Marvel just keeps pushing change for the sake of change. None of it feels organic anymore. So sick of all of the events too.

It's funny, a few months ago my pull list was almost entirely Marvel, now the only books I have on there is Vision, Punisher and Punisher/Daredevil.... three books that are standalone from all these events. I don't see anything in that poster that makes me want to start reading their stuff again.

Remember when Citizen V was on a previous poster and then just never showed up?

This feels like Marvel's New 52, haha (without it actually being a reboot).

Took a chance and picked up a copy of Mockingbird #1 today. The title hasn't been selling well at my LCS, so they still have plenty copies of it and the issues that have followed it.

Really great read imho. Though not being familiar with the character, I had no expectations going into it. The art is really nice as well. I'm definitely looking forward to picking up issues #2-5.

Not yet sure if I'll pick up the CWII tie-ins as well. If the book continues past this event I probably will. If not, I'll just stick to the furst five issues. I've so-far gotten lucky that the two Marvel title I follow (Spider-gwen and Gwenpool) have stayed away from the CWII stuff.

    On Divided
I haven't seen some of these characters since the 80's.
I last remember reading about Solo and paladin in old Spidey issues during the Macfarlane/Larson run. Are they going to try to make Cardiac mainstream next? And Slapstick...really Slapstick, and what is it with every time we see doom on a promo he's holding one of Tony's helmets?
Please don't tell me they plan on replacing Tony with him.

Watch the twist to Civil war II be that they predicted the wrong Hulk and it turns out the Hulk was killed for no reason, or the Inhuman's power causes these things.

That promo image just makes me yawn. Out of this group, only Cable has my interest. Everyone else is either a second-stringer, an "off" version of an iconic character, or just someone I don't recognize or don't care about.

Oh... was Citizen V supposed to show up somewhere? ...

    Still disappointed.

Solo has been around since Deadpool #1 launched last year, and he's part of the Mercs for Money group Deadpool has. It's also where Slapstick popped up from too.

This "I Quit" campaign is so stupid. Why must Marvel keep focusing on the heroes vs. heroes angle? Just another event that breaks up teams for no reasons and just hurts writers abilities to tell stories within their own book.

At this point it certainly feels like a return to the first post-Civil War era which I hated.
