Dont doubt there are others. I know someone with a whole bunch of sealed TF's worthy of a 90 or better. The tragedy is they sit entombed in a storage unit where they have beenfor over a decade.

Random question, I like AFA G1 Transformers but I've never owned. However, I don't want to go crazy and spend a ridiculous amount of money on one either.

Any tips on snagging a somewhat cheap semi-popular character AFA graded? I'd like one to put on my shelf. :)

    Thanks!

Chris.....your best bet is to buy ungraded and submit yourself. You need to decide what grade level you are comfortable with.

I scout eBay every day for the AFA auctions that start at $0.99. Ended up snagging a AFA 80 Red Alert for $350 a few months back that way. Most 0.99 auctions will still go over my allotted budget but it's a patience game. If some auctions allow 'Best Offer', doesn't hurt to try and talk the seller down within reason. Got a few AFA's knocked down $200 or so that way.

    Good luck!

PS: if anybody has any leads on MISB C8+ or AFA75+ G1 Prowl or Smokescreen's in the $600 range, please let me know. Thx!

I don't have the item in hand yet (living in China, sending stuff to buddy in US) but he just sent me photo confirmation that this item arrived safe and sound. I finally own a AFA'd G1 Grimlock. It's a 70, would have preferred at least 75 but it closes a 4 year hunt:

Love the Grimlock! Any ideas why it got a 70 (and not higher)? It's hard for me to tell from the pic.

@Swoopdogg I've found that if there is a gouge or small chip that is quite deep in the box showing the cardboard it seems to grade a 70 straight away. My Soundwave is the same, looks like an 80 apart from a couple of small chips on his shoulder...so to speak ;)

This is one of my favorite pieces,an 85 Frenzy/Laserbeak

I've got two AFA 90 of TFC reissues (Minibots + Insecticons), but I would almost feel embarrassed posting them here against real G1 :)

    Loving the pictures thus far
