    According to Paul,

"Misprinted misfire accounts for 50% then stickered and Printed 25% each", that's worldwide, not just USA. "In USA 90% are Misfire but in uk 75% are correctly printed".

    All the best

Yup Chinese reissue. Rounded window corners and purple background on assortment numbers. Too bad.

Saw that this morning and couldn't believe it hit the open market - makes a ton more sense knowing it's a Chinese reissue.

Yes its a shame AFA didn't put Chinese reissue on the label but they probably didn't even pick it at the time. Clearly the owner doesn't know either judging buy that price tag. There's a legit triple 90 prerub Screamer out there that the two G1 whisperer's found & 1 legit U.S rubsign which is a 90(85-90-90) I think from memory. Whether thats still with the same owner as I found out years ago I couldn't say. Some of these things ninja it into other collections without anyone knowing about it.

The seller asked me what I thought the reissue was worth. I told him usually 1/3 at best but far less for an AFA item. Would you guys agree?

It's the shadiness that shows they aren't interested in showing that it's an authentic US piece - show the back of the box, the sides, etc.

You could offer me that for 1k and I couldn't care less. It's not the original.

The seller bought all of his items retail and then sent them into afa. He is asking for info, so I don't think he's trying to pull a fast one. Hell, I had the same SS in my collection, but in crappier shape! I do find it interesting that the gold box prime he has is labeled as a reissue though. Is it really? Or just a foreign release?

The Gold box Prime is from a "re-issued" line called "Classic." They were sold in Europe, the UK and Australia in the early 90's. Essentially the same toys as the originals, but packaged in gold boxes/cards and with different copyright stamps. If I remember correctly, I think any of the original "Takara" copyright marking were blanked out, and only the Hasbro markings were used.

The line included figures like Prowl, Ironhide, Springer, Wheeljack, Sideswipe, etc.
