Well ungraded 80s have sold for $5-7k; I imagine a gràded one would be near $10k. As far as kidneys go, mine is 38. Once you find a buyer, let me know what you got!

 

Quick question - I recently ordered an in stock Autobot Car sliding case from AFA. However, the case has a yellow tint to it that the rest of my AFA cases don't have. Is this common? Should I ask for a new one? Almost all of my AFA cases are the more expensive UV protection kind. Does that mean that this one isn't and is the reason for the yellow tint?

 

The UV ones have a slight tint, but you've gotta really look at it or compare it to a regular one to see. If you think it's really off you can send me a pic and I'll see if there really is something off with that case.

 

In case anyone hasn't already said it, I think it's nice that AFA themselves have started to take part in our thread. Nice to know that any gripes (or compliments) will be directly seen by them. I hope you continue to hang around ThatAFAGuy.

 

Thanks for replying! It was tough trying to take a picture and getting it to come through with the lighting. I attached my best pic below. The yellow or gold tint is most obvious on the edges of the panels that make the case. Please let me know what you think!

I've spent most of my Saturday drooling at this thread!

My first ever AFA purchase came 2 days ago from one of the bigger AFA dealer's I've found:

85 Pre-Rub Sunstreaker! (85/90/85)

So my grail is a pre-rub 85+ mirage (NGB preferred but I'm not anal). And lifetime goal is what many here share, 84-85 MISB and 85+  

Now I just need to keep earning real people money...haha

Beware of that guy, he's probably got another couple sets still. He's already sold 2 sets that I know of. That and the last Jazz he had graded sold for less then half the asking price of that one he has now. And the previous one was graded too.

I do not have a plastic sheet that goes over the figures. I had a dinoking set and it came with that sheet, but I've never owned anther gift set that had that sheet in there. I thought Dinoking was the only one! Oh well.

Yeah I'm sure he does and no way worth 3k ESP at a graded 80. I tried to buy one before and he said he was going to graded all the rest.

 

So, since I'm new to this, question:

Besides my current chase for an 85 pre-rub Mirage, I'd love a tape sealed Megatron (85+) - how does the fact that orange plugs are required nowaways factor into buying graded sealed ones? Do you need to buy it in person at a convention and transport it back on ground?
