I have been watching the "Dare to Be Stupid"/ main Junkion scene from TFTM a lot as I am customizing my own Junkion army. I finally realized that the scene below is missing something, being Perceptor's death or dismemberment.

The Junkions start their chase, and Perceptor's only choices are turn into a microscope or run, and yet nothing happens to him.

 

He was in the Junkion shuttle after Unicron's water breath or blue fire breath damaged the ship. So he survived the Junkion's assault.

Plus being in Season 3 is a "dead" giveaway that he survived the movie.
 

 

plus perceptor is the awesomeness. he wouldnt die so easily.

 

Maybe what I'm saying isn't clear.

I'm not claiming he did die, it's just stupid that he survived that encounter plus many others that killed or damaged Optimus, Ultra Magnus, Megatron, windcharger, Wheeljack, Skywarp, Thundercracker, and the insecticons.

 

Being smart is a survival skill. Or maybe he just wasn't viewed as enough of a threat to destroy.

Although I don't think we ever saw it used in the show, he did have a tank alt-mode, from his Microman toy origins.

 

He rolled in Microscope mode once.

 

Perceptor lived on in Victory so that totally proves he never died.

 

Wheeljack was in Victory too.

 

I also believe Wheeljack got better. Hell I pretend Smokescreen died with Windcharger as it was supposed to have happen.

 

Microscopes-Small enough to fit in a car. Someone could have grabbed him off-screen.

 

You wouldn't know this because it's not in the tech specs, but Perceptor can run like a motherfucker. Everyone transformed and took off, but Perceptor was leading the retreat on foot!

 

Maybe he just transformed & shrunk down into microscope mode. Then he just blended in with the junk. Junkions just drove past not noticing he was there.

 

When I was a kid I liked to think he ran screaming or mabye threw down hardcore .

 

They cut the scene for time, but he totally transformed into his Diaclone tank mode which utilizes the scope as a sublight engine, enabling him to easily keep up with Blurr if it wasn't for the inefficient track system.

 

The way I see it, a lot of the 86 Movie just didn't make sense, Perceptor surivives Kaon and back, Ultra Magnus gets reassembled with Junkion glue and Optimus Prime dies from a hole in his side. Sideswipe is claimed dead from a miscolored Wheeljack, and we never see the fate of many missing Autobots in Season 3 that were never confirmed dead. Not that Season 3 made that much sense at times either.

 

I just like to think he talked them into boredom at which point they all said "hey flying green helicoptor" and went after Springer. Hurray for too much tv and short attention spans.

 

In response, I would like to add:

FACT: Perceptor is the greatest sharpshooter in the galaxy, he shot a tiny moving crystal 2000 miles away in the air...while the Autobot army was barely able to hit Megatron's shuttle before it left the atmosphere (ref: Microbots & The Ultimate Doom)

FACT: He took out Devastator in 1 shot!!! (ref: Carnage in C-Minor)

FACT: He built an interstellar craft out of a child's toy!!! (ref: Child's Play)

FACT: He can cure robo-zombies!!! (ref: Dweller in the Depths)

FACT: his lens are so powerful, he can look at Teletraan 1's space monitor and see more!!! (ref: Revenge of Bruticus)

How is Perceptor the ultimate bad@$$ Autobot of ALL TIME?

-Perceptor is so awesomely powerful that he was banned from Earth

-Perceptor saved a large portion of the Junkion civilization after Unicron crushed the ship (TF:tM)

-who needs to bring the Dinobots, Defensor, and Superion on missions, when you can just bring Perceptor? Rodimus Prime did something right by having Perceptor in on so many Season 3 missions. While Optimus Prime mostly just kept him in the base...what a loser.  

-Perceptor can light your darkest hour with his lens...who needs the Matrix?

-he wanted to take on 4 Decepticon cassettes by himself, but Blaster had to steal his thunder by showing off his Blaster-fu and new minions. (TF:tM)

-we all know how bad@$$ Chip Chase was, but when Perceptor came along, he got schooled, and left. (Season 2)

-every Autobot before he came along, had a tiny shoulder weapon...size does matter.

-most toys get attention because they have a black repaint, but Perceptor is so bad@$$ that he was spawned FROM a black deco figure.

-"Nobody ever suspects the microscope." (-Bart Simpsontron)

-Perceptor is so awesome that no one has seen his tank mode, and lived to talk about it.



Does this answer why he couldn't die? He's the Chuck Norris of the G1 Universe.
 

 

FACT: Perceptor is a brilliant metallurgist and materials engineer. This, combined with his other abilities, means he could conceivably know how to take out his opponents down to their weakest atoms.

 

Perceptor hid during the battle. Arcee has wide hips. OH!  

 

Perceptor turns into a microscope. He's been running everywhere his whole life. He just legged it and let the freaks go after the new kids.
