I happened to find my way over to their site the other day, and found that they had banzai-tron, generations darkmount, and the new pcc leadfoot "in stock!" so I ordered them and was super jazzed about opening them up after work since they were to arrive today.

I get home, open the box, and what do I find? a box full of voyager defender prime, rotf dirge, and pcc smolder. I realize they're all the same size class, but really, what gives?

    BUY TOYS IN PERSON.

Seriously. Keep the online buying to what only gets an International release, or as a last ditch effort. It's done me fine for the past 2 years.

you know, I don't usually feel like I have to RESEARCH A MAJOR CORPORATION'S WEBSITE BEFORE ORDERING. I just happened across it and placed the order. and actually those threads all went up just after I had placed my order :cry

This forum just needs a big neon sign that says, "Yes, we know. Kmart.com sucks."

To save you time and money, Target.com does the exact same thing too. Only trust Target.com and Kmart.com when it comes to their exclusives, NOTHING else.

Haha, that sucks... What baffles me the most is that they actually sent you the other stuff, what, hoping that you wouldn't notice/care? I can almost picture a bored employee picking the boxes thinking "meh, i'll just package these, they cost the same so he won't complain..."

I hope you get your money back, dude.

Actually I think most places are pretty much fine.... I've ordered countless things online from Hasbrotoyshop, Toys R Us, Walmart, and Target. Sure, once in a blue moon stuff arrives with slightly beat-up packaging, but it's still always the right toy. It's only K-Mart who doesn't seem to understand that figures of the same size class are not interchangeable. Their incompetence is seriously mind-boggling.

the sad thing is that when I do try calling stores to ask if they have something, they'll often say that they do (in the case of a local tru and banzai-tron) only to not have it when I arrive and instead have a ton of the other figures in the assortment.

cue: wasted time and gas money, usually to the tune of an hour and a gallon or two of gas. this is why I gave up on brick-and-mortar toy hunts and only buy online.

If they tell you it is in stock and it's not on the display shelf then you should ask if there are more in the back.

That's not the rigth way to run an online business, they're losing all their credibility. Could you imagine some parent/relative/friend who doesnt know about TFs ordering from them only to get the wrong toys.

A toy retail store that sold transformers in my country (Turbolimach) had a website with online sales, but I never bought from them because they would only list the general informations for the toys, like "Voyager transformer figure Bludgeon, Ironhide $34.59" with no other details. So they could send you either Bludgeon or Ironhide.

What K-Mart did is the same, but at least in Turbolimach's case you knew from the start it was a gamble. In K-Mart's case it is nothing else but a rip-off.

Argos is the same, and they do it deliberately. You can't pick the exact toy you want, only the Class. (Legends, Voyager, PCC, HFTD, etc.) So then hope you end up with something acceptable. *eye roll* What's even more irritating is that during the sales they have some good prices on TF's. :|
