I'm still in shock that I only bought one third party figure this past year.

Looks like the staff is battening down the hatches as well.

Winter is coming to the 3rd party world. Now if only George RR Martin can publish Winds of Winter this year .....

...if a third-party manufacturer starts releasing ambitious legends-scale playsets, they'll probably get all my money for the same reason 3-3/4 joes beat out the original large-scale dolls...

Two years later -- so much for Takara replacing all those 3P MPs with official product. We'll be retired or in the grave before Takara manages to produce MP figures for most of the characters. :lol  At least the (very) few they did turned out to be pretty good products.

Sigh I really liked Centurion until whatever he\'s made of failed under a slight tolerance issue.  Noticed his hip swivel was kinda tight, tried to twist, off came the leg at the ball joint\'s stem.  Maybe I just got bad QC, but that is not how you set up fond memories.

The staff here seems less than enthusiastic about third parties.

And by the time they do, they'll be in eight different styles changed up over that period of decades, so nothing will match. :D

No mention of Iron Factory? Shame. I really like Amethyst.

This was mostly the year of Megatrons for me. While many were not initially released in 2018, I picked up Maketoys Despotron, DX9 Mightron, Generation Toys Tyrant, X-Transbots Apollyon, Infinite Transformation Emporer, Mega Steel Granville, Bold Forms Gladius, Zeta EX-02 (Hegemon), MP-05 Megatron, WeiJiang Megamaster, Perfect Effect Mega Doragon, WFC: Siege Megatron, and SS-13 Megatron. Also bought, but have not yet received SS-34 DOTM Megatron, and TF Dream Factory GOD-11 Megatron. Never managed to snag MMC Tyrantron, but it's been a great couple years for Megatron releases.

Nice to see Challenger on that list.... Well deserved! Perfect in both bot and alt mode.
It's my choice for original 3P toy of the year.
