It's time for us to share another Transformers toy gallery with you, and for tonight's update, we would like to draw your attention to this gallery of the newly releases Generations Legends two-pack of Skrapnel with Reflector.

Carrying on the trend of releasing characters who were of smaller stature in the original Generation 1 toyline in the Legends class, we have this update of Skrapnel. He is extremely well done, with ball-joints all over the place including shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. He's even got neck articulation which you do not see often in this size class. His transformation is straightforward but effective, and produces a cool insect mode which is a very nice classics style take on the Generation 1 alternate form.

Partnered with Skrapnel is a little Micromaster sized Reflector. Reflector was originally three robots who merged into a single camera, and for this outing, Reflector is an update of the middle robot who inspired the animation model, Viewfinder. He "transforms" by laying down, and his alternate form has been upgraded to a modern SLR digital camera. He also features a third weapon mode for any Transformer with 5mm fists to wield, and in a nice touch the gun mode is based on the Generation 1 Shrapnel gun accessory. One complaint with Reflector is the fact that in camera mode, the 5mm peg is on top of the camera, so there is no way to have other Transformers hold the camera mode right side up. It would have been nice if there were a way to have other Transformers hold the camera, much like how Skywarp did in the More than Meets the Eye pilot episodes of Generation 1.

Overall, the Skrapnel and Reflector set is a great example of what Hasbro can do with the Legends two-packs. It's a great set and a lot of fun either as an addition to a Classics collection or just to have a desk toy to fiddle with. Check out the gallery below to see what you think of this awesome duo:

He's just started appearing at retail so with a little luck, you might be able to find him soon. Failing that I'm sure he'll be on HTS shortly?

    "Stop right there, autobot scum!"

    "Why would I do that?"

    "Because I have a camera!"

I'm seriously digging these two. Shrap-er, SKRAPnel looks great, and Reflector is a neat little accessory.

The beetle pinchers look almost identical to the G1 figure. I wonder if you could kitbash the original chrome ones with the Legends figure. That would be sweet looking.

    Excellent gallery, Sol Fury!

So I was looking at the package art on the card of Shrapnel and I noticed that he was holding his original G1 hand gun.... and then thought "But he comes with Reflector!!! The fandom is going to have a shit-storm when they get a load of this".

...And then I realized what Reflector transformed into...  It's quite a brilliant idea really. Go Hasbro on this one.

Skrapnel and Reflector are a great pair. Here's to hoping they do the other Insecticons as Legends.

I like his bug mode a lot. It's got this great...arch? I guess? It's like he's looking up slightly.

Also, it was Thundercracker not Skywarp Simon :)

Looks pretty good. Can't help but wonder what Takara could do with these molds though.

he can hold reflector rightside up in camera mode like the show. use reflectors robot arms as handles. this had already been covered in a forum about this duo.

Check for discount codes. I used a 10% promo code, which wasn't great, but made it less painful.
