wow that's actually really interesting and you've actually convinced me that its not a strange miss match.

 

The head really reminds me of IDW first aid. Despite being an original character he gets the scramble city peg head down very well. I suspect vortex was the very intentional use of the mold. Alpha bravo is just a nice looking colorway.

 

I'm expecting Blast Off to be a remolded Alpha Bravo with Vortex being a repaint of Alpha Bravo. Offroad may well be remolded into Swindle.

I'm also expecting the Club to release their own Slingshot and Wildrider remolded from Firefly and Breakdown/Dead End. If Hasbro wanted to release them, they would have done so in the first place.

 

Or they have created brand new characters?

Hasbro could have just named the Helicopter as Slingshot and had done with it. Instead they have made a new character, which in no way detracts from the original.

There is nothing to say proper Slingshots and Wildriders won't come out later on, especially if this line is successful.

I would have preferred to have gotten a proper Slingshot, but Alpha Bravo is a surprisingly good toy.

 

I bet of you removed the propellers and remolded the back in helicopter mode it could look like a space ship

 

I think it's too early to say Hasbro won't do them - the reason we got the new guys was to keep the first waves from being too much of sports cars and jet planes - evidently once wave 2 hits, having nothing but cars and jets on the pegs were a concern to someone, probably in marketing.

Hasbro is not stupid. I full anticipate the others will be released in one of the later assortments.

 

Bots can reformat themselves, change their name, throw on a sexy new alt mode. Happens all the time.  

Alpha Bravo is brilliant and like, totes on trend with this months edition of Cybertron GQ. Fab.

 

Wait, people are still complaining about how we got Alpha Bravo instead of Slingshot?

Alpha Bravo is probably the best of the Deluxe Aerialbots, he has the most distinctive colors and overall look. I'm glad that we got him instead of yet another robot with a jet on his back.

 

I do indeed, and I can totally get why people want a five jet Aerialbot team, and I have faith that one way or another they'll totally get it.

I just don't think that saying 'they're ruining it for the kids!' is a valid argument considering this morning I watched Spiderman riding a stuffed kitty attacking Constructobots Bumblebee and Mr Potato Head because they'd stolen the magical multicoloured piggybank and were running away to France with it!

 

So you are ok with one of the combatacons being a space shuttle? The team goes to attack the autobots while blastoff goes into space and swindle, onslaught and vortex leave Brawl behind in the dust? I mean, you're telling me that your ok with Megatron, Soundwave and the rest of the decepticons flying the same speed as Starscream and the seekers in jet mode?

 

If they had repainted one of these in the first wave to make all the jets people would complain there was a repaint in the first wave.

Hopefully, Hasbro steers clear of the boards regarding these design changes.

You know.... now that I see it, I like it more so really. Never though that THIS could really be Slingshot and it's just a simple matter of them not being able to use the name.

 

I like the idea of him being a new character. Head sculpt looks amazing.
I love what combiner wars is doing and it really is logical to have a helicopter it's safe to assume that we are getting a defensor so we have the helicopter ready to be repainted as blades. They are making logical choices it seems, groove is being rumoured as a legends which also makes sense because that means the bike will actually be in scale with the rest of the figures.

 

Okay you either have kids or one HELLUVA home beer brew kit.

I want to hear more about this.   I'm guessing that they are running away from Skeletor riding atop a doped up Twlight Sparkle with his Oompa Loompa minions armed with slightly over cooked bacon that is covered with cherry flavored Pop Rocks bringing up ther rear. All while singing the latest Taylor Swift hit single of the day.

... I think I would run too if I saw that..  

 

I cannot wait for these to hit my area! Love Alpha Bravo's look in all modes. Always been a fan of chopper-formers as well.
