Voted for Scourge. I think TakaraTomy might release their black version as "Nemesis Prime" since United toy was Laser Optimus Prime, not Battle Convoy.

 

I think it would be Black Convoy actually since that's the character's name over there.

I hope so   US version = Scourge/Japanese version = Black Convoy is ideal for me or any RiD/Car Robot fans. I thought of Japanese Nemesis Prime since TakTom has ditched "Convoy" since TFTM, except for reissues or MPs.

 

I voted Scourge, because... well... SCOURGE!

If Hasbro calls him Nemesis Prime, I will just slap some upside-down G2 Bot logos on him and dammit, he will be Scourge!

If he is called NP, what's to stop people from calling him Scourge? And I have to wonder how many people will avoid purchasing him out of mere principle. I know that there will at least be a handful. A TFW-wide boycott would be hilarious, though.

 

I don't vote in polls, but I have no interest in that repaint. RID Scourge is just fine as himself. I'm only interested in repaints of the mold as Toxitron & Motormaster.

 

I was going to say that there is only 1 definitive Scourge...and that's the one from RID. The toy still holds up rather nicely to this day.

 

Unless you have some evidence that Hasbro has already produced quantities of this figure for a Generations wave that will be sent out within the time frame of current contracts with retailers, then it's not guaranteed.

And it's not what he's named that counts. For example, I was happy that Hasbro had the blue guy Rumble in Classicsverse for a change. I would have been much happier if they had named him Frenzy and actually gotten him to store shelves so I didn't have to spend more for the TakTomy version.

What would my preference be? Scourge.
Will I refuse to buy it if it is named something else? No.

See that's what did the convincing. If some fanboys would actually boycott an awesome toy because of the name on the package, then I will have a better chance of finding him in stores. Since I toss out the packages on deluxes anyway, having him named Nemesis Prime = higher chances of owning the figure, and the best poll option for me

Hasbro's so afraid to release an OP mold in anything but red and blue that they haven't in almost four years. I don't even know what line this release would be in.

I forget who it was, but someone photoshopped the mold and put the pic in their signature with G2 Combat Hero Optimus and RiD Scourge decoes applied. The Combat Hero version looked nice, so I'm all for a "Combat Hero Optimus Prime vs Scourge/Nemesis Prime" two-pack.

No, I just want him, period. What the name ends up being doesn't matter to me. If it's Scourge, I'll buy it. If it's Nemesis Prime, I'll buy it. If it's Darth Cullenbot, I'll buy it.

This issue, and poll, may have been meant in fun, but it's taken on a serious tone that becomes "us vs them" (Scourge name backers vs people who don't seem to care much about what it's named), and it's one that makes me uncomfortable. It just feels like it's picking a "fight" over something that wasn't an issue before. I know people do get at least agitated when we find out something's been renamed or had it's name modified (the RtS Grapple toy being called "Solar Storm Grappel," the Q/Wheeljack and Dino/Mirage name issues from DotM, RtS "Trailcutter," and others), but then the noise dies down, people buy the damn toy (well, when they can find it), and it's mostly over. This has been going on for a few months now, and maybe it's because we have no news regarding a possible release since we as a fanbase do get angsty while awaiting news of desired releases...but I end up feeling uncomfortable in threads like these since I don't feel strongly about the Scourge name and don't want to get caught up in the breakout of nerd rage if I post something that sets anyone off in one camp or the other.

I don't know if I'm even articulating this very well...but this whole issue just sucks because I honestly can't find any fun in it whatsoever. Being told I either want it named Scourge, want it named Nemesis Prime, or I don't want it doesn't help either.
