Nice work. I'm fairly convinced this is the best looking MP we've seen thus far....it's gonna be tough beating it in the future.

HELL FRICKEN YEAH BABY!!! I don't collect Masterpiece but Blackarachnia will be mine! The first actual Blackarachnia figure ever made. I only collect CHUG but I have to make an exception for her. Now I just need a good Inferno figure.

Nice galllery! Still on the fence about with this one. It\'s so nice but I can be a bit heavy handed, and I\'m terrified of breaking it. Any first hand accounts about this guy\'s durability. All the reviews I\'ve seen they treat this thing like glass.

I treat it gently as it costs $500 CAD.
that aside, it feels and is fairly durable so far despite a fiddly transformation for the back panels when going into beast mode. One tab has a slight stress mark on it but it's really difficult to say if that was just a result of learning the figure on first transformation or an actual design flaw that is highly susceptible to damage no matter how careful and correct you are when transforming it.
I think if you treat it like the money it costs you, you should be fine and it should last without damage for a long time. There are much worse figures where I fear breakage compared to this.

EDIT: Some people had crotches that broke, so that seems like a design flaw where some have breakages, though I suspect that this is from something gone awry in assembly. I do not think the issue will develop if it hadn't already for those who took it through its initial paces. I would give the legs some movement to test this area out well (and within reason without going nuts) to see if it breaks when you first get him. Then if it does, you can exchange the figure for being a lemon.

Fuck, this looks gorgeous! I'd love to pick it up, but sadly after doing my taxes, I need to cut out a lot of stuff until I even out :cry :cry :cry

    Also, yikes!

How do you illuminate the beam in his mouth or is that just a photographic trick?

Yeah, for the time being, I'm subscribing to @Jarrod's theory that the break is being caused by an assembly error. All the breaks evidenced thus far have all been in the exact same place, and all have occurred instantaneously. There've been no reports as of yet from a gradual wear-and-tear style break that points to an actual design flaw.

So certainly an issue to be aware of, but not a cause for paranoia as of yet.

Photography trick. I try to do the standard, solid background color shots with no trickery, just as it is. The ones with backgrounds and colors I treat as "art" and manipulate them to be as cool as possible with my limited effects skills.

He is so beautiful.... but I still can't believe they didn't include a rubber ducky. Though I guess that was more prominent in Season Two (TransMetal Megatron). I need to rewatch.

I think it's technical debut was in Season 2 now that I think about it. That's one of those times where they should have let that slide.

Do you use an LCD screen for backdrops or an illuminated poster frame.

I love seeing the colors from the background reflected on the figures but that doesn’t seem possible with just a printed background.

It's just a printed background here. I have multiple lights positioned all around the figure at different angles, with different color filters on the lights. Plus the standard big softboxes. Each shot uses a different amount in different positions so there is no magic set up, just gotta start pointing and take test shots till it works. At times, I point light directly at the backdrop too.

And to further complicate things, I use flash/strobes, not standard LED/CFL/Bulb based light. So, I can't see what any of this looks like with my naked eye. The flashes aren't on till I click the button, no modeling lights. Have to take test shots and review repeatedly. If you do it enough you kinda get the feel of what will do what where at what strength, etc.
