This sounds like fun. I'm not that good of an artist, but I want to give a Movieverse Rhinox a shot. I think it could work ^_^

At the conclusion of the contest, all entries will be added to our gallery section so people can see all entries after this forum is closed. We may move the threads themselves to the Fan Art Forum to allow discussion to continue beyond the contest as well.

The art or design is not going to be used in any official capacity. It's simply a contest for prizes and fun.

Guys, please read the rules. Art must not be previously created and must be new specifically for the contest.

Question: If the contest deadline is so far from now, what's the point of opening the thread? Is it so we can post rough concepts, and refine them over time? To stake a claim on a character/vehicle/concept so nobody does our idea first?

Is it okay if we evolve the art from now until the final deadline? Like post a rough first, then revise as time goes on?

Can we take suggestions and adjust it before deadline?

If not, I don't understand why you opened this thread so early, or what the point of a thread is in the first place - for this contest. The sensible alternative would be to only take submissions on the day of the deadline.

    A bit confused here.

    Please clarify. :)

    Thanks

I have a design i would like to enter however i would like to know a few things first which i cant seem to find on TFW2005:

    1. If you win how will you recieve the prizes? (Are they sent or do you collect them)

    2. Can i have a robot which has already been in the film series such as Devastator and then make a new design under the same name aslong as they dont look the same?

    3. Do i need to fill in the Location on my profile (Just incase i win, Probably wont though) :(

    4. What do i put in the location section (E.g. details, Adress, Postcode?)

    5. Do you except spliced designs (Designs that include pieces of other robots which have been recoloured?)

Can someone please answer these soon. Thanks in advance :)

I think the idea is so everybody can work at their own pace within the deadline of the contest, and then post up their entry whenever is suitable for them; rather then having to remember to post it up at a specific date.
    It's more convenient that way.

And no one's staking claim to specific characters or alt-modes. As I understand it, we're all free to do whatever character, so long as the concept isn't a blatant rip off of someone else's design.

Why would we only take submissions on the day of the deadline? That would make absolutely no sense. Can you only file taxes on April 15th? Do you only make payments on bills the exact day they are due? Why would we force someone who can work faster to simply sit on their art for a month? Why would I give myself an aneurysm trying to weed through every single entry to determine if it's eligible or not by only giving myself a few hours?

You will receive them via mail. They are coming from Josh Nizzi.

As long as your take is different enough from the film to justify designing the same character.

    No.

The location section of your profile is simply the general area in which you live. It is an optional field.

No. We expect people to use a creative way of conveying the character they are presenting. If you are going to use photos or other stuff and photoshop them together, it must be very detailed photoshopping to look like your own work. Simply recoloring other work is not eligible for this contest.
