Free DLC for ME? SAWEET! Soundwave superior!

I Believe War for Cybetron is a solid 3rd person shooter that seamlessly combines Fast paced action with car-combat. It reminds me of Twisted Metal at times and all the class combinations available can make any fan's mouth water.

As a gamer I believe this game is a nice stray from the usual games people play. It offers something that other games dont which is a fun new way to play with friends. Playing as a class you like is an unbelievable feeling and being able to pull off some serious movie-type of moves makes anyone feel like they're a beast.

As a gamer, it's just a great game to play. As a 3rd Person Game, it's fantastic, you really feel as if you are really in the middle of this epic war. The transformations feel like they aren't forced upon you aswell, you don't have to transform but it's darn well good that you can. The online mode is brilliant, the ability to choose your character & loadout is great and makes you want to try lots of different combinations. Lots of replay value aswell, with or without friends.

As a Transformers fan, it does fill in the void of how this whole war started, the trouble the characters we know and love were put through. The characters themselves are just as they should be, Heavy Moon made them perfectly. The dialogue between the characters just really made the game for me. Breakdown and his ongoing worries about death and Warpath's and Ironhides arguing is just superb !

    Overall the game's just <3

As a gamer, I like WfC because of the way the gameplay is structured. The pre-release videos were dead on: the concept of transformation is very smoothly integrated and doesn't feel tacked on. A notable exception to this overall positive vibe is the jet levels - I dislike that playing as a jet in campaign is separated completely from the other missions, and the jet levels are so blatantly tailored to the flying mechanic it takes away from the otherwise very natural flow of the game.

I also like that the gameplay makes sense from a Transformer perspective and from a standard action/shooter game perspective. The way the characters integrate themselves with weapons, items, and interactive environmental components is quite cool. The need to balance abilities, recharge vs. ammo pickup weapons, and overall abilities is pretty well done in my opinion. The only practical aspect that I feel was not executed well is melee - pressing in the stick, and yielding only one attack with no potential for combos - is very limiting and sometimes frustrating.

From a Transformers fan perspective, I have nothing but great things to say. The storyline is very well thought out, and I completely love the "G1 touchstone" concept with heavy inspirations from G1 but a still unique continuity. There were several gasp-worthy moments in the plot for me, and several elements of the gameplay - Omega Supreme and Trypticon, some of the huge environments with even more huge drops, immersed me in a way that few video games ever have. I also love just about every character design. Like any good Transformers installment, they have me foaming at the mouth for toys! The visual and sonic appeal of the game is superb, and that's the main thing I look for in Transformers stories nowadays.

And the nods to the fans, in dialogue or what have you (and especially the credits...EPIC WIN!!!!!!!!!!!) made me grin from ear to ear.

Overall I have to give the game a 9/10. I don't buy too many video games any more, but this is certainly one of the best and most enjoyable I've played in my life. Fantastic stuff!

I think WFC is a good solid game. I can't complain much about it, except for the melee.
I dispise it. It could have been done a bit better. It feels a lot like the early Unreal Ternament games.

As a transformer fan, its amazing. I've played every Transformer game since the Japanese NES Mystery of Convoy game and this game wins hands down. No Transformer game has ever had such a great mixture of addicting gameplay and writing. The game sucks you in and I didn't let go until Trypticon was defeated.

As a Gamer.... I'm disappointed because the main reason I purchased this game was for the Multiplayer. Interview after interview, the multiplayer was described as amazing and the number 1 reason why I purchased this title. The Games are loads of fun, don't get me wrong but when you lack something as basic as host migration... this game was quickly replaced with Modern Warfare 2. Honestly, I liked WFC enough to forget about MW2 but its impossible when it takes you 10-15 minutes to find a match. Plus, since a lot of the people playing this game are children, they do what children normally do, quit when the going gets tough. I've owned this game since launch and probably completed 10 total matches without being kicked out due to Host Migration. I didn't get my moneys worth out of this game and doubt I'd even buy a sequel. If/When a sequel is released, I will be picking it up off gamefly or half.com. Not worth full price.

War for Cyberton made me really happy on several levels. First, it's a good Transformers game. I was never able to track down a copy of the Armada game, so my entire history with Transformers games has basically been the movie games, which sucked. This game, not sucking, has become one of my current favorites. I don't buy a ton of games, mostly due to budget and time, so getting a game that ties in my love of Transformers and being great to boot has been a really nice achievement for me. This game, despite some ammo issues, has been more or less perfect for me, blending G1 style with a game engine I've been fond of before in other games into something new and improved. Whenever I have free time, I'm on lvling up my multiplayer character and never disappointed in a match or level. Besides the joy it has given me, a couple of my friends, who aren't really that into Transformers outside of the movies and Beast Wars, bought the game and really liked it. They've been buying some of the WFC toys when they come out in my area and been asking me about the G1 series and the characters. Something I've been more then happy to do. So, on top of providing me with a game I can enjoy on my own, it has given me hours of co-op play with friends and allowed me to share my Transformers love with them. And boy, has my love been met, I've seen characters I wanted to see and I know that others will be released, either as DLC packs like this one or in the sequel I hope will be made. I wasn't old enough to see the original G1 run as a kid, so even though I've caught up with DVDs and reading the comics, I always felt like I'd missed out on something. Getting this game made me feel like I'd gotten a bit closer to that. Whether it was seeing these characters rise to what I've know they become or just hearing Peter Cullen speaking as Prime, I've never had a moment in this game where my inner Trasnformers geek objected to anything. If anything, it's only grown. It's certainly made my collection grow. Heck, even the toys are good! What more could I want as a fan or gamer?

Thank you, High Moon Studios, you guys have given me a great game in an aspect of a franchise I never put much faith into before now. I'm away from home right now, and I've been missing the game, but I know what I'll be doing when I get home!

I'd say that WfC is pretty much the best Transformers game out, in terms of content and activities. Escalation's a blast if you got a host that doesn't leave, and stays till the end. The designs look badass awesome, and give off a G1 feel, especially Warpath, Ironhide, Ratchet etc. You know it's them, and they look awesome.

Multiplayer's fun, diverse, the ability to transform gives you a different angle of things when in the heat of battle, fight or flee into the air, etc.

Like this game, Why? Finally we got a BATTLE at Cybertron !!! That is all it matters !!
Indeed the single player story mode is good, solid, not repeating to do something stupid like Mario. Story length is reasonable; nothing a casual gamer can't do.

Hate this game, Why? The Networking sucks although no one has seemed to address anything yet.
(Especially when this double XP point starts; I kept hitting network error connecting to PSN network; or the WFC server is not available ? WHAT THE HECK ?? )

In the past 30 minutes (6:30pm PST) , I tried joining in two games from the beginning; one time it died with connection timeout; another one died after roughly 40 seconds. What really went this wrong so bad?

You know I really hate... someone has to be blamed... gamers probably not; the Server probably yes.
If the Server is not being addressed.... what do they really want us to do ? pay the damn $65 for the game, 9.99 for the DLC and kept saying the F words in front of our own TV ??

For me, WFC is great in single player. I love the story, the gameplay seems unique, and I never get tired of letting Optimus bash people in the face with his axe.

Online is different. I love the idea, and I love the gameplay. The servers I don't like too much. I get agitated because I keep getting dropped 3 out of 5 games. It is things like this that prevent me from enjoying my experiance.

But it is Transformers, and High Moon Studions gave us a great game first, and the best Transformers game released by anyone. So despite online problems, there is no reason I can think of to say it is a bad game. It is in fact a great game, and can be enjoyed by both me, a Transformer fan and collector, and my friends, who like to play shooter games.

Besides, Hasbro produced some kick-ass figures off the game designs, which is another plus in my book.

I'm ambivalent towards WFC, to be honest.

As a Transformers fan, this game is great. It has references, homages in the character design, hell, there's even a slight VA homage in Jetfire's voice. It allows you to play as your favorite characters, which I know many young fans will love. Plus, it looks like a goddamn masterpiece next to the...other...TF games we've gotten in the past.

But as a gamer? Let's be honest, there are very nagging cons here. (No pun intended.) For one thing, the environments. They're cluttered and dark, which makes it kind of an eyesore. The guns are mostly all useless, with the exception of the Scrapmaker. The transformation can sometimes be annoying. Playing as a Scientist is extremely hard, and the worst part, the one complaint I've heard the most, the god-awful ammo system. But does that make it a bad game? Not really. The multiplayer is kinda fun, and the melee system makes for a nice change of pace. And right now, WFC is on sale for $40 at GameStop, and for an ok campaign and pretty fun multiplayer. That's not bad.

My point is, WFC is a bad game that's loads of fun to play. I don't dislike it, but I don't love it either.

holy crap my chance to get the wfc dlc, being broke sucks

The reason i love the game is it finally gives me what i want....i love the civil war aspect of transformers, the idea of two groups of giant killer robots dukeing it out just makes me happy, and the war part on cybertron is what interest me the most....as a kid, i spent my days at home with my brothers acting out our own stories as to what the war was like, making our own characters, our own cities, invading said cites, defending, etc, and this game allows me to relive those happy and cherish memories.....when the decepticons were invading Iacon and the part where you got to fight that HUGE autobot, i was grinning from ear to ear, cause it was what i always wanted

the other reason i love this game is it is a game for me. I am a casual gamer if you would say to speak, and with the way i am it is hard for a game to capture my intrest for a long period of time. Normally i'll play for 2 hours and put it down for a few days, but WFC is different, it is the first game to ever get me to strive to complete it, i am actually trying to level all my characters to prime mode and then to the top again! this game is perfect for me, it is perfect for my casual gamer style.

visually i love this game, the most beautifulest scene i have ever seen in a game is when you go in the decepticon escalation map where you can exit to space, when you go out in deep space it is flat out breathtaking!!!! the stars, the galaxies, and cybertron itself is just flat out beautiful....I feel like it is a gift to those who manage to see it, because it is just amazing.....and this game offers something for everyone! an awesome campain, fun escalation, great multiplayer, great humor, awesome designs....it is the perfect game for the transformer fan and just general gamers......it was the first game i actually pre-ordered and i don't regret it, i saved money for a while for this game, something hard for me to do when i only get cash here and there, usually $10 a month, but this game was worth every penny and i can't wait to play more!

Transformers WFC has a robust amount of game modes and Single Player. It reminds in alot of ways, of Dead Space. It's style and gritty nature brings to the forefront a side of Transformers that we have only experienced through the eyes of Beast like Optimus Primal and Cheetor in Beast Machines.

As a game, its controls are tight, fluid, and fun. Transforming quickly becomes second nature and almost doubles up the character roster becuase of how detailed each is.

It also brought me closer to the TF Community here on the boards. I've met a lot of good gamers and TF fans through Escalation mode. A very rewarding experience to say the least.

That's why I love this game.

As a general gamer, I'd have to say it's an all around solid shooter with well-thought out running, gunning, flying, and driving mechanics. It doesn't aim to innovate or reinvent the genre - in fact, it cribs a lot from other famous shooter series like Gears of War sans that game's innovative cover system - but what it does it does extremely well. Everything about the game play feels well thought out in advance and successfully balanced. I've never been the best at driving and flying games (I crashed and burned pretty often in the first Transformers movie game and still had trouble managing the controls in the ROTF game) but I had no trouble navigating in car or jet mode in War for Cybertron. Basically, this is the type of game that's easy for someone who's new to the shooter genre - and Transformers as well - to pick up and jump right into.

As Transformers fan, I love how the designs combine the feel of the movie universe with classic Generation One (and a few UT, Animated, and movie characters to boot). It's innovative without completely reinventing the wheel, as far as the characters are concerned. Cybertron itself is also expertly designed. Even though the 100% metallic environments can feel a bit indistinct at times, there's a definite feel - that's to small moving features, glowing consoles, etc. that the planet is really a living, working environment (not to mention a living, breathing thing in its own right). Though I wasn't blown away by the story, it sets up enough character and story arcs to really wet my appetite for a sequel, which I solidly feel any good video game should do.

It also helps that after a string of mediocre at best to near-unplayable and infinitely frustrating at worst, we finally have a Transformers game that combines the classic G1 elements most fans have been waiting for with an all around solid and enjoyable single and multiplayer experience. To put it bluntly, this game is a heck of a lot of fun.

That's enough gushing for, now I should think. I'd just like to mention before I go, that LOVE their Megatron design. :)
