"Why do we need to re-engage the fans after 5 movies? Does low box office equal fan re-engagement? Sorry, we won't be taking any thoughtful critical questions."

    Yikes.

Bumblebee did much better than The Last Knight, and represents a success even though fewer people might have gone and seen it in the theaters.

Which is understandable, considering there was no telling what kind of movie Bumblebee was going to be, given how much of a dumpster fire Bay's crap became.

However, it's still an indisputable fact that Bumblebee's direction proved very popular, especially after Bay nearly wrecked it, and Hasbro and Paramount have come to realize you can't get away with a movie being pure eye-candy; it needs a cohesive (and at that, well-written) story behind it.

Because those 5 films were all critically panned, the last film lost millions. They were so bad that many avoided Bumblebee despite the changes. That's where the re-engagement comes in.

If there were anything else, something else would've been posted in the news article. What kind of nonsense post is that?
