I still can't believe that this site is that old. Here's to another 15 years!
thank all of you guys at TFW for giving us a place to discuss our favorite things. hopefully it can continue for a long time to come.
Awesome, I still remember when I heard about this site on one of the bonus clips on the old Rhino DVD's. Been a member here every since. Here's to 100 more glorious years!
I have gotten to know a lot of people on this board, many of them I have met in person over the years at Botcon, but even more so the good friends I have met as a result of the sighting threads. Thank you all those who have helped create and build TFW.
My most sincere congratulations! I have browsed this site every day for years. Thank you so much for bringing joy to my life. And thanks for explaining the 2005 in tfw2005. Here's to another 15!!
Hbd TFW2005, THE BEST OF ALL!!!
Happy Birthday TFW2005!Definitely the best among fan sites IMO.So fellow TF fans rejoyce and roll out!
I'm legit proud to be a part of TFW2005, first as a member joining in 2009 to connect with other Transformers fans I had just met at BotCon, to now being a Staff member hoping to contribute to the community any way I can.
Like Tony B mentions in his great post, as long as people want to keep coming to TFW I'll absolutely be here to try and keep our little online Fandom as great as it always has been.
I used to check the page here and there for my TF news before finally signing up. That took me a few years, now this is my home page. Gone are the days of awaiting the new Tomarts, Lee's, and Toyfare. While I do miss those magazines The web more than makes up for it. Its difficult to imagine Robot-life without TFW2005 leading the way. Cheers to many years ahead. I'm still loving the year-by-year article for the 30th anniversary.
Happy Holidaze everyone! A special 4/20 and celebration of TFW2005. Ahh .. What a fine day to fall on
Time to get a little Wakity bakity going on and celebrate
Missed OG by a year. Signed up as "Dark Prime" in 2001 until something dark happened and the board got wiped. Re-signed up as "Kickback". Got really involved in the Transfandom days. Still remember Toy Fair 2003 when two board members got in to an argument about what kind of toys we were going to see at Toy Fair 2013 (this is when Armada premiered).
Some guy was talking about how the Matrix was a Mini-Con and all this weird information, and some guy named ORSON started responding how wrong he was. Sent the ORSON guy a PM and he fired back with "Say hi to (Hasbro employee) at Toy Fair, I can't make it this year". Needless to say, that first conversation sparked what became known as Orson's World, what sparked the official poll for 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime that was hosted at (what was then) Transfandom.
That's when I think I realized how deep I was in this fan community. Conventions every year, staying up incredibly late to make sure we scooped the other sites on news, digging deep and making contacts in Japan to get news before the other places could, going out and trying to make this site the best it could be.
Left the site staff after the Hasbro purge - with Eric Siebenaler and Aaron Archer no longer working there, and Bill Rawley running Star Wars, and not being a big fan of the movie designs or the direction the brand went in a design sense with Transformers Prime, it was time to go. Combiner Wars has sucked me back in, casually, at least.
This place has given me so much. Brothers in arms (Tony B, Fran, Colin, Dan, Erick, Joe), the spark to create TokuNation.com and watch it succeed with the support of the people above, and realize some very nerdy dreams because of it all.
So thanks to everyone involved with this place, especially in the old days when none of us had serious relationships or families.
Just to give you an idea - when I first started, the guy who took me under his wing was Tim Formas. The dude is married with like three kids now. When I met him, he was single. Proud to have been at his wedding! Cuz that's what happens in 15 years. People stop being online friends and start being family.
Happy Birthday and thanks for just being here
Honestly this site helped me make some of the best friends I have and I am forever grateful
Wow, 15 years!!! Still going just as strong as ever & growing. I have to say I've been VERY proud to be a part of this board since I joined back in 2008. I remember meeting Tony Bacala by chance in the food-court at Botcon that year and he encouraged me to join up. Thanks so much for creating such a comprehensive & valuable resource for us all these years, can't wait to see what else y'all got in store!
Ditto that! I came here without making an account to check out customs for the longest time!
Before the chance passes me by, I just wanna say this.
Happy 15th birthday, TFW2005.
I've been a member since 2012, but followed this site for years beforehand. Thank you for helping me through various times and growing with me TFW2005!
Meh. Feels longer.
Happy birthday, TFW2005!
