I have been signed up with Digg for well over a year now and never had any spam I can directly connect to them. Then I might get one spam e-mail every 3 or 4 months.
Would someone mind explaining to me why getting "dugg" is so gosh-darned important? Like TFW needs the additional traffic and drain on the servers? Is it just not satisfactory to be one of the top 5 TF fan sites on the web? It just seems to me like an exercise in vanity to get a mention on slashdot or digg. But what do I know. I'm just a peon. Zug-zug!
If you don't want to help out then just move along, you don't have to be a dick about it. When was the last time you had a problem with the TFW server? Since the move to the new server we have been golden, even with 2000 users online at one point this week. We are trying to get the word out there to other fans, the entire reason we run this site. If you don't want to contribute then fine, don't waste your energy complaining about those that do.
