He was is All Hail Megatron, as well as like one panel in The Death of Optimus Prime. It would have been interesting to have a few Decepticons on board. Hey who knows, maybe they will still get a few. Thundercracker's still out there somewhere right?

Well since he lurks, hopefully he has some understanding of my (non-creepy I SWEAR) love of him. Or at least my love that he's doing what he's doing.

Terrific read ORIO; thanks a bundle!

Thank you so much for this interview, Orio, it was really interesting! With Roberts, you get the feeling he's someone who REALLY knows what is he doing... I love all his attention for world-building.

I've been re-reading issues 1 to 6, and the amount of subplots going on is amazing... stuff like Cyclonus and Tailgate's interaction, or Brainstorm's suitcase (*raises hand* I want the toy with the suitcase!) This is the kind of fiction I love to read! And I'm so glad he plans on writing more prose short-stories!

Having Blitzwing, Soundwave and Ravage on the Lost Light would have been awesome... a pity we didn't get to see that! I just hope there's some good reason to keep them on Cybertron...

On a side note, the fact Roberts likes Kieron Gillen's work (another favorite author of mine) makes me quite happy :D

Still hoping, as we got to see an alt mode based on the generations mold, he used the
drone to store his core like Prime stored himself in his combat deck way way back.

It's what I'd write anyway :)  He could have been a close friends or a brother to
    Thunderwing
for him to have gotten advance copies of his technology so early on. Also explaining his powerlevels for a sixer.

What I want to know is how many cons are around that can beat the living shythe of a six anyway? Megs, DJD, combiners, pretenders, more?
Ditto for bots. Only Omega comes to mind for IDW set powerlevels?

(which leads to the question, why didn't the cons win?..)

Fantastic interview. Can't wait for #7 but have to. Ak. Love the Eyebrows/Deaths head quote.
I'd buy an engex pint glass and a Rung figure and Brainstorms briefcase would be a great roleplay toy :)

Great interview. This is a fantastic comic series to date, and hearing Roberts' own passion and thoughts about it make it even more enjoyable.

For me, Jame's work is one of the best stuff ever written out there. I hope we can have you stay on this comic FOREVAH!!

The only way I will accept Robert's departure from IDW is if he's given the head writer position on the next animated series.

    Agreed.

Rung would be a perfect scout sized toy btw, just in case you're reading his Hasbro!

Nice interview! And here I thought Milne deserved the credit for the eyebrows. :)

So do we, James. So do we. Maybe we should drop some hints to one of the third party companies?

Taking rare or not pre-existing characters and making them great is one of his strong points as a writer. You never know who is going to end up your new favorite, and it's nice to get a break from the same old standby characters that usually feature in every TF series.

NOOOOO! Damn you, Griffith, for your well populated backgrounds! *shakes fist* The G1 cartoon got away with having contradictory bots all over the place, can't we pull that here? No? Damn.

But even if it isn't Ravage, I love the idea of a stowaway Con. He could have been tormenting poor Red Alert this whole time...

I would kill for some Roberts-penned novels. A sci-fi trilogy would be epic, but I'd gladly try any genre he chose to write. But I hope when he says "non-TF stuff" he means original stories, and not superheroes. There's no room for yet another cape writer, and they would look down on him for writing "inferior" licensed comics anyway.

This was a fantastic interview! I can't wait to see what these guys have planned! :D

Roberts, Roche, and Barber are geniuses! Why aren't they in charge of the cartoon, movies, ect, as well? (Furman too for that matter.) This is first Transformers comics series I've ever had cause enough to purchase in full on a regular basis.

I hope that this team stays writing the comics for a very long time to come! :D

(On a side-note, I'm hope Black Shadow used his Pretender Shell as a cover too.....)
