I've decided to go for either the Hasbro Premium or the Japanese MA-21(?), but I'm struggling to find what the differances are. Would anyone have comparison pics of these, also feel free to advice me which to go for and why!

I love my Takara Premium Prime. I had the Hasbro version as well but sold him since the Takara one was so much better (chrome and whatnot). Still one of my favorites. My vote is for the Takara version.
I feel I should give you fair warning that the last two MA-21's that went on eBay ( one of which being mine ) were sold for at least $200.00. Some people thought Buster Prime would put a cap on MA-21's secondary market value, but it just keeps going up. Be prepared to spend some coin if you really want one.
The MA-21 is pretty nice. I guess that's pretty much the "Buster" Prime version from that line. I've been holding off on Buster Prime, but if these go up in value I should probably get one soon. Does anyone know if the new Hasbro battle hook Leader will have chrome? It looks like the flames are brighter/richer colors, but I can't tell if the gray is shiny.
Wow, that's a bit steep! I missed out on one which went for $90 something, and there's one for $140 now.
Seems dumb then. I just want a nice looking RoTF Prime without paying over $80. Do shitty paint apps really sell that much better in the US than nice ones? I really don't get it.
I gotta be honest, I prefer the US Premium Prime myself. With the exception of a few G1 and Transemetals, I'm just not a fan of chrome on my figures.
Does anyone prefer the 07 movie Leader Prime over the RoTF Leader Prime? I'm asking because I've seen the 07 Leader Premium at Marshalls a few times for $30, but I've never really liked the look of him. His legs look a little fat and not screen accurate, but I've never handled one or really had a great look other than holding one that's in package. Can anyone sell me on 07 Leader Premium Prime? Because I was planning on getting Buster Prime at some point, but I'd be saving myself a good $60+ if I went with the 07 Leader version. A little help?
I LOVE MA-21 Prime and it's still my favorite movie Prime toy, despite the awesomeness that is Buster Prime. What it lacks in accuracy, it makes up for in fun. It looks great too. It might just be one of my favorite Optimus Prime toys, period. I thought I would want to sell it once I got the perfect Buster Prime with a masked head but not a chance. I appreciate that I can actually transform MA-21 and its relative lack of complexity. It does go for a lot these days but Reprolables does make a conversion decal set to give it the details it lacks and that the MA-21 has. It could be a good, cheaper alternative for you.
Got mine today for about $64, MISB. The packaging is in great condition but the chrome seems to be chipping on the legs, and the rubber ties that held some parts of the figure has disintegrated. Is this normal?
Ah, you must have used quite a bit of Nucleon to resurrect this thread! But as a side note, where did you get it so cheap? I am looking for an MA-21 as well, but he's a bit more expensive on Ebay
