Just picked this guy up this afternoon at a Wal*Mart in NoVa. He's very very awesome right out of the box. Pros: 1. Absolutely SOLID plane mode. Nothing's loose. Everything is just perfect. No excess kibble anywhere. 2. Chest and head automorph is nice. 3. Transformation of the legs is quite a challenge. 4. Good usage of the different shades of gray. Cons: 1. The light blue from the Allspark Power is a bit too prominent in plane mode. 2. The rotating blades aren't as smooth as I like it to be when you pull the switch. 3. The legs are held on so damned tight in plane mode that transforming them is a BITCH. 4. Hands would've been nice. Overall, one of the top voyagers from the movie line. I like this figure a lot. Also, when you attach the blades, make sure you're attaching the correct blade to the correct arm. And when you're transforming the knee kibble, there are these square divots that hold the knee kibble in place on the side of the legs. \
Does the lack of hands take away from the overall quality (by "quality" I mean enjoyment and things like that) of the figure?
Only a little bit. While it would've been absolutely wonderful if he could switch from blades to hands, I can see with the rotor gimmick that it would've been very difficult to pull off. Personally I would've preferred to have the rotor gimmick scrapped in place of hands. The blades do give him a really menacing form of weaponry though.
Just call him Maximillian. I suspect the enterprising kitbashers will be giving hands to Incinerator, since the rotor parts appear to just peg into place.
The only problem I see with that is that his arms are already abnormally long. He'd look like a gorilla.
the left blade on mine does not spin right it locks up on the second or thrid pull of the switch. so i have to turn the blade itself to get it unlocked other than that it is a pretty cool figure
Bigbadtoystore or TFSource should be carrying the black one from TakaraTOMY. If not, there's always eBay.
God that thing looks so chock full of FTGDW. Thanks for the pics and review Ron! I've been looking forward to this since last summer, and was astonished when I found out I wouldn't have to wait till TF2 to get a V-22 Transformer! Also helps that I've always been a fan of that aircraft.
i'm kinda bummed that his blades dont fold to become fingeresque, but he still looks freaking sweet. cant wait to find one.
Nice clear pictures. Thanks. Incinerator shown has a clean design... but I am not seeing enough play value out of it in the robot mode. Perhaps for the helicopter mold ever designed and released by Hasbro has to have the gadget to spin the propellers. However looking at the robot mode. one half of it being transformed while the back and tail body part is untouchable. I would like to see that if the front of the propeller can be unattached while still linking to the forehands with the blades folded together... where a hidden hand can be pulled out... and I don't see enough weapon out of it... other than the blades that can chop things up... and that is kind of suicide attack, or I meant ... no return.. if the blades got wrecked....
Hmmm.. I'm dissapointed with him, the vehicle mode is wonderful, but the bot mode is pathetic, the color scheme looks as if he belonged to energon or cybertron, and the lack of hands is something I can't forgive.
so to my surprise, the wife and i hit target tonight and i found incinerator!!! 3 of them in fact....cant wait to get him out of his boxed up prison and release him to my collection...
How badly does the tail part get in the way of pulling any decent poses with Incinerator in robot mode?
Any pose where the legs swing forward has no problem. Side to side is pretty limited. Backwards, don't even think about it.
