StarSkweek of TFans.com has found 1 of the Easter Eggs in the new 20th Anniversary SE DVD

    Link

My apologies if this is in the wrong section. I just figured finding a DVD easter for an anticipated release classifies as news :)

Not sure about Diaclone (because they used several different toy lines to make G1) but a good portion of TFs that we know and love, came from pre-TF lines that had nothing to do with 'em originally.

    Such as:

the entire first wave (except the Mini-Bots iirc....)

    Second wave:

    Whirl
    Roadbuster
    Perceptor
    Dinobots
    Omega Supreme
    Blaster
    Jetfire
    Year 2 cars
    Devastator
Insecticons (Both the basic and deluxe sized figures)
    Shockwave

Dirge, Ramjet, Thrust, Astrotrain, Jumpstarters and some of (if not all of) the Mini-Bots are the only Hasbro created figures (AFAIK)

    Wave 3:

    Ultra Magnus
    Sky Linx

The rest were Hasbro created, such as Predaking and the other combiners (beyond Devastator.)

Other than these figures, it's pretty much been actual TF and a partnership with Takara.

I was amazed to find out how many figures weren't actually TF to begin with.

I let this be for now, but it should get moved soon to the TFGD forum, where people can post all the different ones they find to help others out.

Well, since people are starting to get their copies in, I suppose I can post the other one I found. On Disc 1, on the menu with the Soundwave picture (I think it may be Set Up, but not 100% positive on that), highlight the option directly to the left of Soundwave's waist and then hit right. The play button on his waist will highlight. Hit enter to see Nelson Shin, Susan Blu, and Flint Dille's introduction of the DVD for SDCC this year.

For the record, both the faction symbol on the main menu and Soundwave appear in the same places on Disc 2, but DO NOT activate an Easter Egg on that disc. Or rather I should say, they may do it but utilizing a different method from disc 1.

Nope, 1st wave of mini-bots were all Microchange, as were Soundwave, the original cassettes, and Megatron. Everything else in the 1984 line was Diaclone -- meaning there were no "new" molds that year.

(And how many current TF fans noticed that the original TF's were all repaints/remolds when they were kids? Heh.)

    Details from TF Wiki

Blaster and Perceptor also originated in Microchange. The Microchange Blaster came with an AM radio cassette.

I already have a JPN DVD with a bunch of Diaclone commercials. However I urge everyone else to watch them. They are very creative.

The most interesting thing I take from them is how they weren't bashful in trying to get kids to buy multiples of everything. Nearly every Car Robots commercial shows entire armies of cars and trucks.

Found the Easter Eggs. (All that I could find, and I scoured both discs with my DVD-ROM, and DVD Player. The ROM worked wonders.)

    Disc 1:

    Main Menu:

    Autobot/Decepticon insignia (Diaclone commercial)

    Setup:

Play button on Soundwave (SDCC Intro)

    Disc 2:

    Main Menu:

    Autobot/Decepticon symbol: (Reflective patch commercial)

Special Features (where Cliffjumper and Jazz alternate): Up above the door with the features are hidden Autobot/Decepticon symbols. D on the left, A on the right.

Lite Brite Commercial, Bumblebee runaway PSA

And if you buy at WM, as an exclusive, you get an Iron On transfer, and you know I'm so gonna wear it.

....I'm such a friggin' geek. Now to find a nice shirt to put it on...

There are more Easter Eggs to find

Like I said in another post, finding easter eggs is a QUARTER of the fun in owning this DVD

But its up to you to SELECT when you look for them

Personally, I can't deal with that right now

    Happy hunting!

I have tried the two obvious locations that he could be hinting at, and I still can't find it...This puppy must be hidden well.

    It's VERY well hidden

Only the Matrix Of Knowledge can help you SELECT the best time to look

My hints should 1/4 the time it takes you to find it!

I'm guessing maybe we've found a quarter of them? Or is that a hint at pressing right?
