I would say shortly after botcon we could expect an announcement like this though.

Actually, the June/July issue of the club mag says we will see a "FIRST LOOK" (caps courtesy of Brian) _at_ BotCon of TFSS 3.0

Assuming that posting text from the mag is kosher,
If not kosher, I will replace with a paraphrase.

I'll say, for one, that after two years of ridiculous delays with their FSS that they're going to need to knock my socks off with the selection in TFSS 3.0 to get me to bite. And I'm not even a negative person or a complainer when I say this.

I think the spread they have now is fine... We basically get a figure every month from June to November.

I'd be totally ok with that...if I didn't have to pay for it (or the first part of it) in October of the year prior (is that when it was, it's been so long I can't remember?)

While I think it's a bit annoying, I can see having to have the money upfront in order to get the factories to run it when they want. Unfortunately, they keep warning to shoot for Feb or March and we end up in June. It's not the club's fault, but it makes them look bad after them saying "we had a miscommunication last year. This year will be on time"..

Delays are no big deal, cause we'll eventually get the figures. Also telling us X month and being later is far better than telling us a later month and have it be earlier.

I'm not sure everyone would agree with that last sentence.

I mean, I could make a case for your position, but I hardly think it's a universally accepted truth....

I don't know about that. Over promise, under deliver; that's a good thing? Two years in a row there have been months of delays that they push the blame away from them. I guess if you're talking money wise the delay can be okay, but Id much rather have the TCC be more cautious with their delivery dates. Instead of saying February is the release date, push that to April. They'll win the internet if they avoid those long delays. Under promise, over deliver.

Indeed, it isn't that hard to figure out a solution to the problem. Not to mention the fact that you aren't earning any interest on any money you're loaning the club for a year while you wait for toy 1 of 6 to show up. If you are paying in advance it is surely reasonably expected that delivery dates be upheld.

The factory is not some evil factory either and really needs to stop being blamed for any and everything wrong. The Club works with Hasbro - come up with a solution already, it's been years. You're earning a profit - where is it going?

But yes, the least you can do is learn to promise more conservatively. But hard to do that when you're a greedy company interested in hyping things up so fans buy in to your lies.

Honestly, the fact FunPub is still running a TF Club reflects poorly on the consumer intelligence of the fandom.

Umm... Joes are smaller/simpler than TFs. You know the Joe Con box set has fifteen figures every year
While poor ol' Botcon typically only has 5... (nevermind the difference between a 3.75" non-transforming human figure and an Ultra-class Transformer like Scorponok)

But hey, you could say TFSS 2.0 technically has 10 figures... with the 7th figure and the 3 Microns added in. Not much difference in the numbers then.
