TFs Prime first 5 episodes on DVD

I really wish they would just sell the entire first season on DVD/BluRay and be done.
I saw the arguments for shelf space/price, blah,blah,blah. The packaging can be done so an entire season fits in the space of 1 dvd.
I could understand this better if the 5-parter was included with a collector's toy, such as Optimus!!

In response to a question about a season set for Super Hero Squad Show, this is what Shout's Brian Ward said about that show and Transformers: Prime on the Shout! boards:

It's how we originally wanted to release Super Hero Squad Show.

But Transformers is a different animal. Whether Marvel fans want to admit it or not, Super Hero Squad Show is a series made primarily for entertaining kids. Transformers aims at entertaining both the kids and the hardcore fans. Having only just seen "Darkness Rising," I can tell you the storylines are darker. The tone itself is much more skewed toward a slightly older audience; preteens, teens, and collector fans. Super Hero Squad Show is clearly written and animated with a 7- or 8-year-old in mind. Parents, as a general rule, don't want to buy 4-disc sets. The $12.99 to $19.99 is enough for them to want to spend on a DVD for their kids.

Retailers are pretty specific in their clientele. For instance, you don't find most families casually shopping in Best Buy. Best Buy leans toward the fan. The person who wants their electronics and music and movies/TV shows. The TV consumer who might as well get the Blu-ray player and, what the heck?, might as well get a Blu-ray to go along with it type. Families shop in Target and Wal-mart, where they happen to be in the stores shopping for back-to-school clothes, food and toiletries and give their kids the option of buying them an action figure/doll or a DVD. Children's titles, like it or not, are more often than not impulse buys; something the parents didn't anticipate buying when they walked into the store. So they have to remain affordable or cheap enough to be considered an "impulse buy." That means limiting the number of discs. And that's why Super Hero Squad Show comes in single-disc sets; because it is, after all, a family show found in the family section.

I'm hoping for a collector's version of a show like Transformers: Prime. But as of now, we're starting out with the 5-episode miniseries and we'll see what happens from there. But we're certainly taking into account the fact that the hardcore Transformers fans may not want to pick this disc up separately. We just can't give any kind ETA on any kinds of larger sets coming up. We're not there, yet.
