I don't know if this topic has already been discussed BUT I read on one of the Star Wars boards that when asked about plans for the TF's 25th anniv. Hasbro said that they could not reveal anything at this point. So.....

Is it too early to start speculating about what may be in store for us?

Judging by what they did with the 'Joes' regarding carded figures could we possibly see G1 'bots & 'cons' in original (but tweaked) packaging?

I'm thinking too that the absence of KO Sunstreaker & Wheeljack and the recent crackdown on other KO items could possibly mean that there are some surprises awaiting us. Either that or maybe they'll totally ignore the anniv. save for a fancy-schmancy 25th anniv. sticker on existing products.

    Whaddya think???

Hmm...it is a bit early, but something tells me next year's Botcon could be HUGE.

It could make for an interesting year (2009) with 25th anniversary, Animated, Transformers 2, Universe. It could also make for a very interesting Botcon.

I want to think ahead to the 50th Anniversary of Transformers where the live action movie is remade with real robots including robots for the human characters. :)

I was thinking about this the other day as well, hope it's something nice. Some have said that Universe is supposed to be the big 25th ann deal, but i hope not. And i agree as well that next years con will probably be one of the biggest ever.

I say they release MP-05 in Hasbro packaging or maybe releasing Magnus with his armor. Nah Hasbro would never make their own masterpiece mold.

    Hey Hasbro !!!

If you're reading this...a nice boxed set of UPSIZED G1 Constructicons (in scale w/ the G1 cars) would be stellar!!:thumbs2:

For the 25th Anniversary, I could a line similar to the 25th Anniversary GI Joes. Similar packaging to the original (G1) with a mixture of great new designs, some repaints, and even some combiners mixed into the assortments.

For example, would it be hard for Hasbro to take Classics Prime and release him with a new trailer and roller? How about a couple new limbs for the Superion and Bruticus sets from Energon to create a boxed sets. Of course, I would expect a lot of new molds as well.

I think they would need to retool Prime's legs, since he doesn't have a fifth wheel attachment point for a trailer, unless the connection point itself attaches onto the truck rear, with a rotating joint for the trailer.

You just know that they're going to have to do a "Lucky Draw" silver figure...it being the "silver anniversary".

Oooh...For the 50th anniversary they can do a complete set of vac-metallized "Golden Lagoon" G1 molds. :lolol

    And worth it.

I cant wait till it. I highly doubt we will hear anything from Hasbro regarding their plans for this anniversary, till later this year at the soonest.

I'm not getting my hopes up, and I don't think anybody else should, either. G1 reissues don't sell at mass retail. I can see a big emphasis on the Universe line, maybe. And yeah, Botcon...which I don't care about, 'cause I'm sure I won't be able to go.

That's exactly how the THS mold's trailer works. He is basically the same as Classics op. Not quite, but close enough.

    A 100th. Optimus Prime.

If we get every OP toy that they shown us so far this year, that will bring the total number of US produced OP toys up to 84. That's just what we've seen so far. There could be more this year. So when next year rolls around for the big 25, how hard do you think it will be to reach 100 by the time you count more Animated, Universe and a second movie line?

The question becomes just in what form would the 100th Optimus take? A repaint of the original? A repaint of the MP? A US produced THS? Or maybe a new mold.
