Megatron was painted using a gloss black base coat and then air brushed using AlcladII Holochromatic chrome. He was detailed in Model Masters Grape Purple, Testors Gloss Black, Testors Gloss Red for his eyes and Testors Gloss White for the puplils. Maybe I should remove some of the pics. I think it's scaring people off.ed the first 24 pictures Update: I removed the first 24 pictures. Hopefully that will make this easier to manage for viewers.
"PLEASE MASTER!! MY INTENTIONS WERE TRUE!!" Lovely job on the paint scheme. Wish Hasbro gave us something like this out of the box though. :T
Holy crap, that finish is intense. Love the, I dunno what you call it, rainbow reflectivemness? So people could complain even more about the price of TFs? No thanks.
It's Alclad II Holomatic Spectral Chrome. I love the effect and looks even better in person. I don't even want to imagine the price tah Hasbro would put on it if they gave us this paint job.
Maybe not paint, considering how much Takara's Final Battle Megatron runs for (and that was mostly the purple chest piece/right arm getting paint), but they could've cast the plastics in actual gray/dark gray instead of those weird beige colors that most people I figure eventually want to get painted/customed over anyway. :T I'm a show-accuracy kinda guy if that hasn't been driven home yet, so yeah. Lovely work again. :]
Thanks. He was fun to do. The hobby shop was out of regulad chrome so I went with this and am pleased with how it turned out.
