Hello all! I have been working on this guy for quite some time, and I think that I am finally getting closer. He was designed in Blender, and the parts are being printed on an Anycubic Photon. I have found a VERY durable resin which resists wear like no resin that I have tried, it is the Nylon like resin from Phrozen. I have a thread in the "Fan Art" forum for some details along the way.

Oh and, Due to the transformation, I was not able to get a waist swivel in there. I had actually thrown in the towel twice on this one!

Still a lot of work to be done, but here is what I have so far...

I thought that I had the shoulder armor movement for the transformation in the bag! Then I got almost all the way to the end, and realized that it wasn't going to clear the parts around it. It took about a week to come up with this...

The only issue I had was parts warping if not supported properly. It seems like if a part is supported too much from one side each layer is is pulled to the side a smidge each time the layer is pulled from the FEP screen. I love this printer!

I will keep plugging away and posting updates.

Thank you! I will admit that I am also impressed and SO happy. Now to make sure that it is as functional as it is pretty.

Thanks! When I look at it I smile every time. It does have that "prototype" look to it!

Thank you! Stay tuned, I think this one is going to be my best yet! A lot of work left tho...

Thank you! It came out better than I was expecting to be honest!

Thanks! I think there is an artist in all of us! I had to learn to do every other project in order to be able to figure this one out, if that makes any sense! I wasn't ready when I started it. lol

Thank you! He is 24 centimeters tall. About MP-10 height.

Right! It is literally all I can think now. I can see the finish line, and it is glorious! hahaha

Thank you, Thank you. I am very pleased so far!

Here are a few shots of the existing parts in bug mode, just for fun.

    hs5.jpg hs8.jpg

Some of the parts that have been split up so that the high wear areas can be printed in a better/more expensive material, and can be replaced when/if needed more efficiently.

hs2.jpg hs3.jpg then held together with a screw.

    image00064564.jpg hs10.jpg

The Phrozen Nylon Like Resin is very promising, but it seems to overexpose and the parts have an extra .01 mm all around resulting in smaller negative spaces and larger positive details. "Shit don't fit!" haha
I have ordered some Formlabs Durable Resin, and some photopolymerisation accelerant from another company that should bring the exposure times down to something that my printer can handle.

    Back to work!
