Brave, the Japanese TF (esque) shows of the 90s. It's good that they're getting some love outside Japan. IMO Brave should be the way a live-action TF should be done. With lots of heart, courage and awesome fights.
considering most of the robots' designs were done by Gundam's big daddy himself, Kunio Okawara-sensei, makes me think if his designs would work as a Transformers character as well, though they could be heavily gimmick laden so the toys would work, some quite revolutionary such as the Symmetrical Docking started by the Raker brothers that was further popularized by the Ryu brothers of GGG.
nope i was growing up on this shit back in the early-middle-late 90's watching this online back in the day
Excellent! I'm so glad Brave is finally getting some love. Congrats on being asked to lead the panel, Sol Fury. This thread, and Sol's great pictures and descriptions of the figures, are what kindled my initial interest in Brave years ago.
anyone else see that WTF DID THAT BOT JUST GO SUPER SAIYAN OR WHAT ? POWER UP EFFECT WISE THATS TOTALLY WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE TO ME ANYWAYS FOLKS GAOGAIGAR IS OS OVER THE TOP EPIC AWESOME ITS INSANE
makes me wish they revealed more on the cancelled 9th series that is Baan Gaan, so far we have only seen the titular robot himself & the secondary one, Mach Spherion that he would combine with to form Great Baan Gaan, we have yet to see the side characters in action such as dedicated teams with their own combination formats, configurations, signature themes, & gimmicks, also any updates on the GaoGaiGar-Z novels that had been released so far?
Awesome Brave was my hardest jam, coming out of high school. So cool to see it getting THE LOVE at TFnation
For those curious, that was Hell and Heaven, literally combining the powers of drestruction and creation into a devastating attack. And that's not even his most epic move.
i know split lip im just saying that in over all appearance it looks liek the bot went super saiyan (that is easily the single most awesome thing i have EVER seen in super robot anime
Have you seen Final of Final, which is numerically the 8th episode of the OVA series? Because the Gravity Shockwave Generating Tool is awesome, and even cooler is GGG's strategy to deploy it. (Don't spoil the end for those who haven't seen it with specifics).
Well, I know I had uploaded a few episodes of GGG as early as 1999. Seriously tiny as hell, but episodes were present online then from others as well.
if you knew where to look for subtitled episodes and could count on family to help you out online web link search wise you would be surprised what you could find back in the day. hell thats how i got my hands on official dvd sets for brave police brave expresss and brave king gaogaigar and final and grand glorious gathering over the years .(family getting in touch with friends and family online , one of them ordering the dvd sets for me from over seas through amazon japan back in the day, came at a hefty price shipping wise payment wise for each dvd set but way worth every penny. I LOVE THESE SHOWS.
so anyone here considers Car Robots/RID 2001 in some way a successor to the Braves? then there's Webdiver & Daigunder which does not last long for some reason, also they sort of tried again today with Shinkalion.
oh yeah i totally noticed that with robots in disguise back in the dak also transformers cybertron as well this version of optimus happens to be a true yuusha braves hero in spirit for sure
a final battle to the death betwen optimus prime and megatron from transformers cybertron and the fight is a homage to brave exkaisers final battle with dinoquist to boot
