Piranacon is the only combiner I had as a kid, and then not even all of them, so this has a lot of nostalgia going into it. It help that I think Predaking and Piranacon were the only good designs for combiners too. I will be watching this with some interest. You know, for anyone who cares.

Seacons are the only combiner team left that I want but I'm not expecting much with this reveal.

I hope they've quit using those damn Energon Combiner ports. Was a terrible choice that hindered previous gestalts.

 

You say that as if they did it for every single combiner, when it fact, they were only on Ares.

My mistake if he meant the combiner ports, I thought he was referring to the ones on the individual bots.

Regarding the Targetmaster modes, keep in mind that most of their "gun" modes are just modified beast modes. So they could easily include them in theory.

I think a bigger issue would having a robot with strong enough joints to use a gun the size of it's entire arm. Going to need some strong ratchets for that.

Either way, I'd saying making the limbs scramble-compatible (meaning legs can become arms) is a much bigger job in terms of engineering than giving them gun modes.

 

One option of they go Targetmaster would be to have weapon mode include splitting the figure to lighten the weight.

But I'd rather have a sturdy combiner with a dedicated gun guy than quadruple changers.

Especially for cost reasons.

 

Really looking forward to this and the small glimpses we've seen look like it could be really good.

I hope they can include the targetmaster modes as it's a big part of the original toy. If they do, would it be the first 3rd party combiner that has proper scramble-city interchangeable limbs? I know Fansproject M3 can do it to an extent but it doesn't hold together as well as the intended combination.
