You don't need to worry about the thing. You need to worry about going to Baltimore. One block outside the inner harbor, and you're putting your life at risk.

Not kidding. You'll have a far greater chance of having something bad happen in Baltimore than licking a hospital doorknob.

Literally a 10-15 minute drive from my house. I’ve never been able to make it to a Transformers Convention but this is too close to miss. I’ll definitely be there

Literally closer than the last two I attended? Assuming the world doesn’t explode, I’m in.

(actually, I’m wondering if the pandemic made the asking price for an in-town venue more affordable? So,,, win?)

The Inner Harbor area is quite nice. All cities have bad areas, and Baltimore has its fair share, but it does have some good qualities.
I've been to Games Workshop Games Days, Otakons and a number of other events there and never had an issue.

If the event gets cancelled we will let you know. In the meantime, no covid discussion as it tends to derail topics. Stay safe out there and continue on with the TFcon discussion

I went to Otakon there back in the day a few times. It is within reasonable driving distance. Put this as a maybe.....

Hate to say it, but with 3p's focus being mostly on MP scale and repeats upon repeatsof early G1 that make even Hasbro's love of 84-85 seem light, and the reveals the last few years at TFCon also seem pretty lean, I'm more tempted to see what Botcon may end up offering still with exclusives. They were able to use Hasbro exclusives before they were official...and maybe they will again...Not to mention that its about as far away from me as humanly possible while still being on the same continent lol...

    Totally.

I've spent plenty of time in Baltimore, living there, working there, going to shows, etc.

It's a great city with some really special places. Some really terrible places too.

No one should be scared off by the bad press it gets though. The Inner Harbor is perfectly fine. Harbor East, Canton, Fells Point, Charles Village, and Federal Hill are all right there too.

Everyone should come. It'll be great!

Well, if anyone thinks their life is at risk than at least sleep safe in knowing that UMHC, Mercy, and John's Hopkins are all about 60 seconds away. ;)

If anyone truly is nervous about the city though, the light rail drops you off next to the hotel. There's a stop at BWI, so staying out there and riding in is both easy and inexpensive.

just curious why? I went to a comic Con here in Long island and a video game con and both were underwhelming. Is it just to crazy at TFCon?

Eh, it just wasn't what I was hoping for. I went with a small list of figures I was looking for and couldn't find a single one.
None of the workshops or seminars really interested me, so the dealer room was my main draw. Being disappointed there kind of soured my experience.
It was cool meeting a few people from here, so that was definitely a nice highlight.

Haven’t been to a Baltimore Convention since Comic-con in 2016 so I’m game. It’s only about an hour away for me. For those that need to fly, bwi is regularly the cheapest airport in the area so it’s not too bad.

November 2021 gives better confidence that it should be able to occur.

oh, I thought there may be a 3rd party presence. If not I’m much less interested.

It's almost all TP stuff. No official presence like Hasbro booths.
