Hah. I dig it. Very fun exclusive, the wheel on the sword really is a great touch too.
Nice colors and decent headsculpt... but Athena, with its partsforming and generally flimsy feel, was one of the most disappointing figures I got this year. So I will be keeping my distance from any recolors of this mold. Which is a shame, because they LOOK very nice, and I know I'll be pretty tempted whenever a Nightbeat comes along.
Club-thumbed overly-opinionated Youtube reviewer. Has some interesting insights and views. Definitely give his channel a watch sometime; certainly not for everyone, but it appeals to plenty of people in the fandom.
He got those turkey club fingers mac!
no one abbreviates his name like that, just post the video
I hate this thing.
1) WB looks FunPub-awful as a car...
2) WB is generally an awful character.
I have a hard time believing there is any demand for something like this. Nautica would have been a better, more interesting choice.
When do preorders go live please for the love of god I need one
looks like ass
I should try to sell the original mould.
well, from what ive heard of the mold, it's got too many issues so im hesitant to buy it.
Looks pretty cool. I really like my Athena and this looks like a neat companion piece.
Are there any bad reviews of Athena other than Bobby Skullface? All the reviews I've seen have been positive, and a fragile figure doesn't jibe with my experience with Fans Hobby. I skipped Athena, but this is pretty tempting, and it's surprising to see people going, "Well as we all know and agree on, Athena was bad,"
seems to be a reach...that is all.
This is such a stupid choice of character for this mold, I love it.
This ain't your dad's Fans Hobby. I have both their Overlord and Athena, and the difference can't be more stark. Of course they are different characters, but Athena is just colored plastic and a lot of the color accent are supposed to come through the .... stickers. WTF. Plastic feels cheap. There's the whole business of partsforming and yeah, ball joints everywhere. I would take Earthrise figures over Athena anytime.
This just plain looks bad, I was almost on board with the sword until I saw the wheel and exhaust pipes. I think if my eyes rolled any harder I\'d have seen my brain.
Don't know where all the sudden hate for Athena is coming from, outside of BSF, still haven't seen any reviews myself of people with any real complaints, even regarding the choice of stickers over paint. Mine doesn't feel fragile at all, the ball joints are all solid, and due to an individual circumstance, mine had gotten knocked off a 4ft shelf at least 3 times now and has held most of her pose even upon landing. Individual copies might vary, but it sounds to me like a whole lot of people are trying really hard to convince themselves and others that Athena has faults that don't seem to be there.
Sounds about right.
